But he does meet the DBR alliteration requirements.Sorry, he's only 6'2", fails to meet the SMHR (Scheyer Minimum Height Requirement)
Cadeau was supposed to be a potential one and done entering the dump on the hump. Didn’t pan out, I wonder if Hubie will beg Cadeau to renege on the portal decision and come back like Trimble did? Also, a little surprised Washington is going portaling! What the hell is goin’ on down there at cheatville?UNC's roster is a mess. Hopefully Hubert replaces him with another short guard who can't shoot or defend.
Cadeau is also a four year guy who's probably not fully formed yet. Now another school will get to reap his development while UNC was left to suffer with a turnover prone, shot deficient, poor defending PG.I tend to agree. That kid has insane quickness and an improving 3 point shot. Since Hubert seems to like to follow Jon's blueprint, maybe he now believes in turning over the whole roster, but he forgot you need someone like Cooper coming in.
To your last point, I don't think any one of us have heard of Sion James yet here we are. You never know.right pass, and stepping up to take over a game when need are things you can demonstrate on a balanced elite team. I hope we do keep some our core this year Brown, Pat, Evans, and Caleb coming back would put give us a solid base for next year and I am not sure we are going to find any better overall 2 way players in the transfer portal.

I know his mom voiced frustration after the SW16 loss to Bama last year. I thought he might bounce then. I think Cadeau was a reclass which you really shouldn't do unless you are a legitimate lottery pick. I remember the one and done talk but based on his size and shooting I don't know what he offers as a NBA player.Cadeau was supposed to be a potential one and done entering the dump on the hump. And regarding Sion. Tulane only made the NCAAT 3 times... all in the early 90's... and never made it back to the NCAAT since then, a span of 30 years. So Sion works hard at Tulane for 4 years, growing into a fine upstanding young man, transfers to Duke with the only request that if he earns playing time, he'll get it. Ends up starting for a Duke team in the S-16's, with a chance for E-8 or more.To your last point, I don't think any one of us have heard of Sion James yet here we are. You never know.
The first challengers in a couple of decades to Scientific and Majestic Mapp. The best-named brothers in college basketball have each decided to go portalizing.
All Wright, Valparaiso (video)
Always Wright, Rhode Island
I wrote about both of them here, when Always Wright and his Rhode Island team took a trip to the Bahamas last summer. All Wright explains their names. And yes, I already made the requisite Matthew McConaughey joke.
Not sure why everyone assumes losing Cadeau and Washington is a sign of something going wrong. I suspect that very soon after the season ended, each of these guys sat down with Coach Hubert and (perhaps more importantly) GM Jim Tanner. Tanner likely told them what Carolina was willing to do in terms of NIL commitment for next season and it is likely that both Washington and Cadeau did not like what they heard. I suspect Tanner has some ideas about what kind of player could replace them and what that player will cost. What the hell is goin’ on down there at cheatville?
It certainly felt that way. And with the kind of season Proctor has had, it certainly wouldn’t be an unreasonable decision. You never know until you know, but my guess is that Proctor will indeed go pro this year.
FWIW, this was my take as well.Totally my take as well when I heard CJS.
I mean maybe. But they did win the ACC and earn a #1 seed last year with Frosh Cadeau starting at PG. This tells you the kid can really play. And he led the ACC with 6apg this season despite having very limited big men.Not sure why everyone assumes losing Cadeau and Washington is a sign of something going wrong. These may not be signs of rats fleeing a sinking ship... they could be signs of a ship that knows it does not really need these rats any longer.
Yeah, we’ve just gotta accept that college basketball is operating on universal 1 year contracts until something changes. Transfers are the default, not the exception, so these guys leaving doesn’t necessarily mean anything for UNC.Not sure why everyone assumes losing Cadeau and Washington is a sign of something going wrong. That said, UNC still needs to fill the holes left by those two guys now. And they haven’t shown a consistent ability to do that with success in the portal—they’ve obviously been incredibly hit or miss. If there isn’t a new point guard incoming within a couple weeks I’m betting Carolina fans are going to be quite anxious.
My thought is there might be 3-5 better PGs in the portal than Cadeau, but why would any choose UNC over all their other great options? It's a classic "bird in hand" situation. Big loss for UNC IMO.It's essentially just one hole, as Washington was not an impact player at all. He's a backup. They can find another Washington in the portal I'm quite sure.
Finding a PG better than Cadeau will probably be difficult though.
The title of the song, Roam, is now even more appropriate. But will he get his new school’s band to follow him out of a hotel lobby?
North Carolina sophomore point guard Elliot Cadeau has gone portaling, source told

Jalen Washington now officially into the portal.
