Duke Alums on the 2024 PGA and LPGA Tours

Yeah, looks like T-3rd is probably the worst he will be and if the player who shot -11 yesterday does the typical revert to the mean, he could very well be in the final group.

Personally with Alex’s issues finishing weekends, I prefer he not have the added Final Group pressure even if it isn’t Sunday.
Unfortunately you were right. After going -5 and -8, Alex goes even par over the weekend while other guys are putting up -7s, -8s, and better. If Alex had just gone -5 and -5 he would have would have won the tourney outright. As it was, he got less than 10 points.

Smalley has an okay round of +7 (+23 overall T40) which unfortunately ended with a double bogey.

Max sits at +8 (+31 overall T7 trailing by 4) thru 11 but the round is postponed till Sunday. It’s bad timing with Max coming off an eagle on 10 and only has an 8-footer for birdie on #12. Hope he doesn’t lose his momentum.

Kevin doing great, in at -5 and currently T5. Alex was doing very well also, got to -4 and T10. In the fairway on the 18th but with water short and right, and I'm thinking "play it safe, nothing wrong with left or long, take your par and head to the clubhouse'. Guess what, double bogey.

The cut will probably be -1 or -2, so he's going to need another decent round tomorrow just to make the cut.

Looks like the cut will be at least -2 and a reasonable chance it is -3. Long is not looking good to make the weekend.

What do I know? Alex with one of the worst days of the contenders, a -1 when only 3 of the top-30 shot E or worse. A lost opportunity, but a really good day tomorrow could still snag him a top-5.

Only 1 tournament left and he would need to win to make the playoffs. It's his home course which should bode well, but he missed the cut there last year. That was the beginning of his troubles. Right now he just needs to save his card, and it's probably gonna take a good showing in the FedExCup Fall to do it.

Looks like Max will be needing a top-4 finish in the season ending tournament to make the playoffs, but I believe his card is secured. Unfortunately, it looks like this will be Kevin's last year on the tour. There's always a shot in Q-school, but he's turning 46 and I'm not sure he wants the grind of the Korn Ferry Tour. I imagine he'll try to stay sharp enough to join the PGA Tour Champions in a few years.

Think you meant Alex who’s playing well, but Max is tearing it up at -13 and 4th. Just got some CBS air time.
Max now -14 and T2, just 2 shots behind. Alex got it to -12 and T5, but then missed a short par putt under 4 feet. He can still snag a top 5 but running out of holes.

Max incredibly hot. -15 and only one behind Vegas. He has a chance.

Regardless, Max will be posting the number to beat. The other leaders have 4 or 5 holes left, lots can happen. Will be good to be in the clubhouse.

With a heroic 2nd shot after bad drive, Max birdies 18 and posts -16 to lead. Of course, the other 3 still to play several holes and the par 5 18th.

With only 1 tournament left, Max has almost guaranteed himself a spot in the playoffs regardless of how today finishes.
