The longest thread ever

But did he offer you any hard candies?

That’s a great story! One of the reasons I love DBR! I cannot top that, just a lot of urinal stories on Capitol Hill staring straight ahead.
He didn't have any pockets! ;)

I ran into Orrin Hatch in the bathroom of a Jazz playoff game in Salt Lake City, also in the '90's.

I only half jokingly say I want to be an American pet when I come back for my next life.
Yeah, not me. The rural town I live in is bisected by the interstate highway running from Nashville to Chattanooga. From various reports I've heard, we are one of the hotspots in the state for people (I use that term advisedly) dropping off unwanted dogs and cats. I have a punishment in mind for those people, and there is nothing humane about it.

Had a friend quote someone who cited a paper which found, "Only 1 of 5 studies graded as excellent quality showed a negative association between fluoride exposure and cognitive outcomes, whereas 30 of 34 poor and fair quality studies reported a negative association." I'm tempted to call them an idiot, but is it really worth the effort?
Idiot here - what’s the problem the quote?

We were on vacation when I was a kid and my squat little dog Delbert was staying with my grandma. He dug out and started heading home, which was 15 miles away. He decided to use the interstate and literally stopped traffic and ended up on the news. Got rescued. We stopped our vacation and went home to get him.

New nickname became god’s dog.

OMG, I just found out that Jim Cantore is in Nashville today, 1 hour up the road. The forecasts I've heard don't seem to merit that kind of attention (at least to this recent Colorado emigre), but I guess I better go get up-to-date predictions.

Snow storm coming your way. This is from the Ryan Hall youtube yesterday. Predicting the telestrator spot will get hit the hardest.

Jim is a savvy Vermont lad and Vermont lads know where to go in bad weather. Like me today, I went out briefly and am now dedicated to the couch.

Oh, yes, I know we're getting snow. This morning, that was all they (NWS) were forecasting: 4-6 inches of snow, no ice. That is next to nothing, even here in Tennessee, and certainly not worthy of all the hype. Now, however, they've updated it and there is a chance of "light" ice accumulation on top of the snow. That could change everything, if "light" becomes something greater.

Snowing again. Started about 7 last night and should be ending in the next hour or two. Not even close to the amount received last weekend but causing closings and driving issues anyway.
