I'm lost. The only way I could find it disgusting is if I thought any of it is true. Oh well, no satire allowed for the next storm.I'm trying to figure out what is so DISGUSTING. Must be that certain elected leaders are spreading this ridiculous, nonsensical lie. Certainly can't be the fuzzed out word that a lot of people use in referring to the current President and/or my feelings.
Thanks for this. I thought of writing a long post on how the criticism of Ukraine aid is ridiculously short-sighted, both on geopolitical grounds and by the fact that the vast majority of that money is not being "given" to the Ukrainian people in some kind of cash transfer, but rather provided in-kind through weapons systems we have already built that are lying around in warehouses, or for weapons and systems being built by US workers. Oh, and it just so happens that a ton of defense contractors have major workforces in...North Carolina!Debating the finer points of a strawman argument only lends it credence, in my opinion. If anyone can draw a straight line from Ukraine support to any shortage of recover and relief in WNC, please forward it to my inbox. Otherwise, the decimal point is irrelevant.
Sorry, I'm getting a little salty at this - especially regarding the lack of any response, explanation, etc.
Tell me about it, Judge Aileen Cannon was in my graduating classUnfortunately being a Duke (or Harvard or Princeton, etc.) grad doesn’t preclude becoming a propaganda shill for the MAGA cult. Too many leaders of the fairytale-spinning MAGA/FOX power centers are graduates of our best schools. Boggles the mind.
What’s disgusting is that a sitting member of congress insinuated those on the other side control the weather for political advantage.Still DISGUSTING

I'm sure it's nothing. Your emails probably are in his spam folder.I also emailed JD and received no reply.
To be completely honest, I 100% was not expecting a reply. I'll also admit that I thought maybe repeatedly acknowledging the lack of reply on this board might prompt a response.I don't imagine either of you will get a direct reply, but there was a DBR front page article about Hurricanes Milton and Helene yesterday that suggests he might be aware of the criticism. From my reading of it, he tries to be apolitical this time; he's still prone to long tangents, but this one is basketball-related, starting with a concern about Dick Vitale and then going into a cancelled Orlando Magic preseason game and uncertainty about the Boozer twins' announcement.

Honestly, I don't care what he believes. I don't agree and I find it hurtful, but his beliefs are his. I just think he ought to understand how it feels from this perspective, and also I don't like it associated with this community.
If everyone in this community agreed with those ideas - sure, go for it. But I'd probably find some place else to spend my valuable Internet time.
I guess owners get to own. This is interesting to me. After all these years (back to the posting code days) I didn't realize that the "main page" and the "forums" are essentially independent. I thought both were subject to the same moderation and "rules".
As someone once said, "It's good to be the king."I guess owners get to own.
Always, always. As someone once said, "It's good to be the king."
Looking down our street. You can see the flooding at the bottom.I might have good enough signal to post a few pics from our immediate (half mile away) neighborhood from day one. Bottom of our street:
