Duke Alums on the 2024 PGA and LPGA Tours

Streelman goes -2 (70) today to improve to -7 overall. He is currently T6. Alex Smalley is -6 through 14 holes today. He needs to keep this strong round going.

Greyserman is yet to tee off.

Fantastic round by Alex, only one morning golfer was better. If he can hold his position through the weekend he will guarantee his card. He can even afford a little slippage.

Kevin still in good position. One bad hole.

Two tournaments left after this, and both Alex and Kevin playing their best golf of the year in the fall. I give Alex a 99% chance of keeping his card, and Kevin up to 70%.

Good news! But don't you worry about the Weauxf Gods?

Think your projection for Kevin too optimistic, at current place in the field he’s 135. Alex I agree with, he’s in.

Max looking to make substantial walking around money.

Heading into Sunday’s final round:

Greyserman T4 at -15
Smalley T30 at -9
Streelman T30 at -9

Tee times:

Streelman 9:50 am #1
Smalley 10:01 am #1
Greyserman 11:40 am #1

Max is playing solid today but likely will finish somewhere in the top 4. Eckroat is -9 and has a 3-stoke lead with just a few holes to go including the typically easy par-5 18th. Another great week for Max but once again likely not quite enough.

Streelman had a nice round at -4 and will finish around 25th and Alex shot -2 and will finish around 40th. Nice weekend for the Dukies!

Kevin now 84 points behind #125, Alex 43 above #126.
Alex had a mediocre weekend but his lead on #126 remains 43 points, so he held his ground with another week in the bag. He should now safely have secured his card, but a perfect storm of finishers below him over the next 2 weeks could oust him. I give that about a 0.01% chance of happening.

Kevin inched closer and is now 71 points behind #125. But he fell behind his necessary pace of needing to make up 30 points per week. He's playing well, he still has a shot. He has guaranteed his conditional status for next year.

They are both heading for Bermuda. It has been one of Alex's best venues, he has finished T30, T11, and T12 in his short career with no cuts missed. If he makes the cut again he will lock up his card.

Kevin has never played in the event, I hope the course fits him. There are no top-50 players in the field so he needs to take advantage. Two of them took points away from him this week, and I expect several to play in the final event the following week. I think he needs at least 100 points over the next 2 weekends to break into the top-125. That means two T15 finishes or a single T5. So depending on how he does this coming weekend it could come down to St. Simons Island (I expect Alex to play here also because he'll be getting about 6 weeks off). Kevin plays this event every year but has never done very well...but he has never had this much on the line. C'mon Kevin, just get a top-5 in Bermuda so we can all breathe easier.

The perfect storm is occurring. Current FedExCup projection has Alex only 4 points ahead of #126. He needs to make a move today.
