Duke Alums on the 2024 PGA and LPGA Tours

I feel like you aren’t nailing this one right now😜
I don't know about that. There were 3 PGA winners 2 shots behind him, I expected at least 1 of them to put some pressure on him and none came close even though McCarty was only -1 on his round through 13 holes. There were a couple of -9s yesterday so the course was gettable. All props to McCarty, he got the job done, and his eagle on the par-4 was a dagger. If Kevin had shot -6 he would have forced a playoff.

Most importantly, Kevin has now given himself a real shot at keeping his card. He moved up 39 spots and is 68 points behind #125. It's too bad Jaeger was in the field, he sucked up those 300 2nd-place points but can't use them. Kevin could have gotten about 80 more points (T2 vs. T3).

Though Alex dropped a spot, more importantly he padded his cushion on #126 to 60 points (it was about 40) This is great news, it's been a struggle and he was outside the cut most of the year.

They're both playing well, I'd say Alex has over 90% chance of keeping his card, and Kevin has raised his chances from less than 5% to 50-50. Five tournaments left, 3 of which are outside the country. Keep grinding!

Here's a nice little article focusing on Kevin:

That’s a great story. Thanks for linking to it. Carving out a career in professional golf is not the easiest way to make a living that’s for sure.

Alex finishes -2 and currently T35. Unfortunately this is another course playing very easy, he was one of the first ones out so 50% of the field has just started and 80-90% of the morning is still out. Looking at a cut of around -5 or -6 so he has work to do tomorrow. He really didn't make any putts, his few birdies were tap-ins. If he makes some putts tomorrow, he'll play the weekend.

Crazy second round by Alex who shoots -2 to get to -4 overall and make the cut. He finished bogey, double bogey to take some luster off, but his round included two doubles and an eagle on a par 4. He had 5 birdies and only that one bogey.
