Duke Alums on the 2024 PGA and LPGA Tours

It’s 8:14 and quite dark in Greensboro. Max has screw the pooch and now Rai has a short birdie putt on 18. Almost not fair to Max to have to finish tonight. But he will. Turn on the car headlights!

He made his final par putt in complete darkness. At least it was 15 miles or so due north of Sedgefield. The camera lens made it took like mid afternoon.

Ah that’s too bad but seems like he’s got a good attitude and will be fine. Got some second place dough and experience dealing with a bad break. Seriously most these pros don’t typically see a cart path on the right that close to fairway. He was super unlucky hitting cart path, which is the only reason it went OB. Oh well, he knows what it takes to win a tourney, and what not to do. Max is trending up.

The Kuchar decision to finish by himself tomorrow is bizarre. He must be upset about something since how he finishes 18 is irrelevant.

Well, he is DFL after round 1. Basically, very little chance to be in top 50.
You don't understand. He can easily be in the top 50 with a little bit better play. He has a 72 point lead on #51, and even with his current DFL he is only dropping to #54. Top 50 not only gets him to next week, it gets him into all the signature events next year.

I expect him to improve enough over the next 3 days to hang onto a top 50 slot, but this was a terrible start.

Actually I understand quite well. He doesn’t have a lead over #51 anymore, he is currently 54th. Over the next 3 rounds he will have to jump 3 players and not lose ground to anyone behind him. And he’s playing against the best players in the world, not secondary event qualifiers.

Yes, it’s possible he plays MUCH BETTER (not a little better) and plays next weekend, but I doubt he pulls it off. I’m rooting for him though as he’s our best hope for a Duke alum with a full tour card next year.
