Duke Alums on the 2024 PGA and LPGA Tours

Actually I understand quite well. He doesn’t have a lead over #51 anymore, he is currently 54th. Over the next 3 rounds he will have to jump 3 players and not lose ground to anyone behind him. And he’s playing against the best players in the world, not secondary event qualifiers.

Yes, it’s possible he plays MUCH BETTER (not a little better) and plays next weekend, but I doubt he pulls it off. I’m rooting for him though as he’s our best hope for a Duke alum with a full tour card next year.
Yeah, which I wrote, and I'll add he's only 23 points behind #50. Much will depend on what the players around him do, but It's really not that difficult for him. He literally can't do any worse over the next 3 days.

Max needs to get his putter going. In the first 3 holes he's missed putts of 4.5 and 7 feet. Missed opportunities. His iron work has been close to superb and his driving very good.

I’m glad you posted this first so I can’t jinx anything😜

Max is currently out of last place due to the other Max - Homa going +9 over his last seven holes😳

Max didn't do himself a lot of good but he didn't dig the hole deeper, -2 on the day. I think he needs to go at least -6 over the weekend to have a chance of staying in the top 50. It's possible.

Max finishes strong and shoots -2 for the day - giving him a better shot of making the top 50. With several players still playing the back 9, he sits T-65 and could end up 2-3 spots better. He generally hit the ball well but was subpar putting - if he starts putting like he did for 65+ holes last week, I think he has a chance to play next week…

Max gets wet and takes a double. I'm afraid he almost certainly will be missing out on the perks of a top-50 spot. Oh well, he's had a very successful rookie year. A lot to be proud of.

Max fought back to even for the day, but it's not nearly enough. He's now 38 points behind #50. I don't think he's going to get it done.

His best chance is for Justin Rose to drop, I think it would only take a finish 2 or 3 spots below his current place of T10.
