Smalley now even, Kevin -3 with two to go. Problem is the morning scoring for the field is incredibly low; one guy I’ve never heard of is -8 after 9 holes.

Quite a story. Turned pro in 2019 but this is his 1st year on the tour after a T4 at Q school. Chipped in from 55 yards (in the rough!) on the 17th for eagle. Currently #236 in the OWGR.

Yikes, Long is +5 in his first six holes and needs to go at least -6 the rest of the round to have a chance for the weekend- IOW he’s done

Max Greyserman shot -5 (66) again today to improve to -10 for the tournament. He heads to the weekend in great shape.

Doesn't look good for Alex. Cut line will almost surely move to -5, and he needed to sink a 10-footer on his par-5 initial hole to save par. He missed the green from 94 yards out. Plus he needs to do much more than just make the cut, and he's currently 13 shots behind the leaders. This course is playing ridiculously easy.

Alex now officially done, +3 through 3 holes after bogey and double-bogey. Sigh, looks like I'm back to enjoying the Tour 16 days a year.

Alex was 32 feet from the hole and launched it 52 yards, over the green AND over a bunker. WTH? I've never done that and I'm a TERRIBLE golfer.

Then on the next hole makes a 29-foot birdie putt. But that doesn't matter when you miss a 6-foot birdie putt on the very next hole. I'm so confused.

Alex was a T2 on this course last year, and a T16 the year before that. And a T47 the year before that when he wasn't even on the Tour, must have been a sponsor's exemption. A year ago Alex was within spitting distance of the top-50 in the OWGR (#63). I always thought he would scratch it out this year, but am now having serious doubts about him keeping his card.
