Board software - Q&A for the new stuff

Nice job .
One quick question; How do I get back to the Main (front page)?
When I click home, it takes me back to the the home forums page (not back to the DBR home)
Did I miss something ( very possible….😊)
Something we'll have to add back in as we learn our way around the new software.

If you click on a highlighted thread, it will take your last read post in that thread. It is much like the "new" button in the old software.

I am finding navigation to be a ton easier on this new board. The ability to quickly see threads that have updated since your last post and see the posts in them that are new is really smooth.
It definitely does not do that for me, for what it's worth.

All posts got reset as “unread” for everyone during the migration, so all threads started out bold (designating there are unread messages). I marked the boards as “read” for myself to reset the other way. Now the threads in bold contain new messages I haven’t read yet. Unbolded threads have no new messages.

Are you seeing something else?

Is there any way to edit a post once it is submitted? If not, I'm gonna have to do a better job of proofreading before hitting submit. :)

By the way, great job with the migration. I am impressed at how relatively seamless it appears.

The "edit" option is still there. I use it alllllll the time. :ROFLMAO: (It shows up underneath your post. I just added this part with the edit button.)

a typical message has a “Report” link in the bottom left. After you write/post a message, you (and I think only you)will see two other links for a while, “Edit” and “delete”. These go away after a time (I don’t know the time limit; likely similar to the same feature in the old software.)

Note that I have yet to access the new board using “mobile” mode, mt interactions are via desktop or the iPad equivalent to that, so I don’t know how that looks and if the same exact features are there.

ETA: I just used that link to correct something, so it works!

How do you add a signature? I can't find where to save it when I look through my profile.

Can confirm the edit function works, because when I posted my signature was included! No idea how/where to change it however...

I've been collecting a few questions that, to my knowledge, have not been asked. (Though I second the earlier questions about adding chat capabilities, and a link that takes us to the DBR front page.)

1. How do we make a poll?
2. Is there a way to determine which members have posted in a particular thread, like before?
3. Can we bring back the previous thread/next thread option to navigate within a forum?
4. Will the pictorial "Duke Basketball Report" header return?
5. Do we have a way to increase the number of posts on a thread page (currently 20)?

WOW... I just noticed the "top" menu on the DBR forum with Home that goes to the DBR front page, EK Board, Off Topic, etc... just like before. GREAT JOB!!!! Keep it going
We are lucky to have a mod or two who excel at customizing things like these. I do not know what can or cannot be done, but rest assured — folks are listening and are looking to maximize the user experience to the highest extent possible on the platform.

That change is fantastic IMHO.

I am digging the lightning bolt at the top of my phone that appears to take me to the “new posts” list. Extremely handy.
