Blue Devils in the NBA 2024-2025

McCain is playing great but he’s not helping the Sixers. They are terrible. Even with Embiid in the lineup.
PG and Embiid are either not healthy or not buying in. McCain and Martin are the only exciting players to watch and Martin is better as a 5th option. The best part of watching Sixers games is listening to Aala and his partner (besides of course seeing McCain).

Nearly as frustrating as Cam Reddish's now you see me, now you don't routine, has been RJ Barrett's hyper-efficient, hyper-inefficient performances. RJ never disappears, he's always gonna shoot the ball, but often times, as evidenced the other night when he got his triple-double, he'll shoot 37% from the floor. His style of play also leads to a decent amount of time at the FT line, where he's a...mediocre FT shooter (71% career). Well, right on cue, he scores 39 on 13-21 FGs, and 4-8 3FGs, to go with 9 rebs and 4 assists.
At Duke Southwest, Tyus Jones continues to impress at PHO, going for 18-2-8 with 0 turnovers. His numbers for the season are down slightly pretty much across the board compared to his career-best year last year, but still quite good. MP2 seems to relish the role of semi-Point-Center, which he's played before at other stops in his NBA career, going for 8-11-6. And Grayson Allen is improving his accuracy after a pretty bad first few games shooting the ball, going for 17-4-1 on 5-10 and 4-9 FG and 3FGs.
Also improving his shooting after an atrocious start is Gary Trent, who scored 12 on 4-6 3FGs.

The Sixers are trying a different strategy this year, after several years of playoff failures. They are just trying to make the playoffs and then turn on the juice, assuming everyone makes it that far in good health. Of course there are no guarantees against injury and at this rate they won't even make the playoffs. They're also flaunting the NBA rules for playing healthy players in favor of load management. It's not a good strategy for consistency and team chemistry as we can see. Surprisingly, McCain has fit right into that strategy thus far.

He saw this thread and just had his best half of the season and outscored his best game already with 12 points on 4/5 3-pointers. Hope it continues in the second half!
GT is shooting .462 overall and .529 on threes in the Bucks wins (including last night), and .295 and .225 on threes in the losses. He is also playing and shooting less (though more efficiently) in the wins. But to be their best, the Bucks will need him to play more and score efficiently.

Makes it a lot harder to sell tickets, both season tix and individual game tickets, especially at these prices, when the buyer has no expectation that the team's leading players are even going to play, healthy or not.

I doubt they are worried about ticket sales, or at least not as much as winning a championship while Embiid is in his prime. They have already given up on another scoring title or MVP for Embiid this year.

A team that is 2-11 and in last place in the conference is so so far from contending for a championship. Plus now dissension in the locker room is being reported. There is no process to trust -- they're cooked.

Maybe Jared will get to be teammates with Cooper next year.

I will go out on a limb and say there isn't a current player on the roster that will be part of there next championship run/window. They are years away. Just a disaster right now.

I think it was sooo wrong that Embiid was given the MVP award for the 2022-2023 season. He had some pretty good stats, but it was glaringly obvious that Jokic deserved MVP yet again. He is twice the player that Embiid is/was.

Agree. It was a sympathy vote. It was driven by Nick Wright and Kendrick Perkins making ridiculous claims and voters actually listening. It was very satisfying to see Jokic win the championship that year.

Tyus Jones continues to be a magician withe ball, collecting a double double with assists (10) and points (15) to go with 3 rebs and 2 steals.
Jared McCain continues to pile up 20+ point games, getting 20 in the PHI loss.
Luke Kennard (3-5) and Gary Trent (also 3-5) continue to improve on early season shooting woes. Admittedly, Trent's woes were much much worse.
Grayson Allen (1-8) unfortunately did not continue his streak of good 3pt shooting in the Duke Southwest loss. MP2 played just 3+ minutes and generated no stats.
