Blue Devils in the NBA 2024-2025

Cam Reddish plays nearly 19 minutes last night. 0 points, 0 bounds, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks (how is this possible?). Thought maybe he stood at mid-court the whole time, but he did commit 3 fouls and missed 3 shots.

and -16 in +/-. Lakers managed to win by 5, so there's that.

RIght on cue, as i mentioned a couple of days ago, he goes from having really nice games to 0-fers. I mean, it really is hard to have a less meaningful presence on the court than what his stat line indicates.
McCain otoh is averaging almost 15ppg on very solid shooting stats.
Wendell Moore has now scored more points this year (19) than all of last year (18), in just 5 played games. IDK if he was recovering from an injury earlier, but a) he didn't play in the first few games and b) didn't play much in the 1st coupla games he did play. He's had productive stat lines in the last 2 or 3 though, and on a DET team that doesn't suck nearly so much as it did last year.
Jalen Johnson continues to put up very nice numbers for ATL (18-13-7) in the win. This a few days after he put up a trip-doub
RJ Barrett has managed to extinguish the All-Star? has he magically found a way to be a better version of RJ? talk with his putrid shooting stats in his last few games. He's now shooting well below his career averages, with 40% FGs and 31.7% 3FGs.
Brandon INgram had a big night (29-9-7) in NOLA's win over DEN.

He got in foul trouble very quickly. Picked up # 2 on a dubious call 6 minutes into the game and had to sit. It appeared to throw him off.

Gonna be real interesting to see what the Sixers do when Maxey is healthy again. I would imagine Kyle Lowry is gonna see his minutes take a tumble. I would imagine McCain will remain in the starting lineup with Kelly Oubre moving to more of a bench role... though there could be an argument for bringing McCain off the bench as a 6th man, which would mean less overlap in his minutes alongside Maxey and could work better than having 2 scoring guards on the floor at the same time. I think you would still have both Maxey and McCain in games down the stretch (along with George, Embiid, and... uhhh... Calen Martin or Oubre?).

McCain is the only regular on the Sixers shooting better than 38% from 3.

I would not bet against him winning Rookie of the Year in a really terrible year for rookies.

Yeah Oubre is the better defender but his decision-making on offense is questionable. I can see either he or McCain starting with Lowry losing out on minutes. In general, McCain is more redundant with Maxey so I can see him being the 6th man for now.

It's been a tough year so far for Gary Trent Jr.

Sorry to be the guy posting negative stuff here 😂

Did anyone think he would be close to this good this fast? It's amazing what he's doing in the most athletic sports league in the world, given his physical limitations. He's a joyful savant on the basketball court.
I don’t want to jinx him but he reminds me of Steph. Has a long long way to go but I get the sense the sky is the limit for him.

I took some flack on this board comparing McCain and Steph Curry before the draft. I remember posting just how similar their shooting splits were in their year of college just before the draft.

So here we are, looking at Jared (12 games) vs Steph (full season) rookie years.

Per 36 minutes-

Steph: 17.4 / 4.4 / 5.9
Jared: 26.7 / 3.6 / 4.3

Shooting splits-

Steph: 46%, 44%, 89%
Jared: 47%, 40%, 100%

I'm not saying Jared is the next Steph Curry. But I will say that he is a similar player and at least on a very similar track early in his career.

McCain and Maxey will be like two peas in a pod with their cheerful, positive attitudes.
So far its hard to tell how well McCain integrates with Embiid and George.
I can see McCain starting over both Lowrey and Oubre, depending on the matchups.

Some players really benefit from the spacing and pace in NBA. Glad to see him doing well, knock on wood. One of my favorite players.

Bet against him? He's the clear favorite at this point in the online betting site I looked at. He's at +125. Rissacher is the closest to him at +500. Only one other guy is less than +1000.
