It will be this guy.
I would consider betting a pie against it.

I'm curious, BD, is it because you think Trump did not promise that to him, will renege on the promise, or some other reason? Or is it just because you don't think Trump will win?I would consider betting a pie against it.
Yep. A friend (a 71 year old woman) is canvassing this weekend in PA. Most of the folks I know who are canvassing are women. My friend may go to PA on Tuesday to drive voters whose mail-in ballots have been rejected to the polls so they can vote a new ballot. She said the organizers don’t want any white men for this duty—too much risk that their presence will discourage minorities.Another thought about canvassers. The ones that come to my door are either young people or women. Trump's team may be having a hard time finding people willing to canvas. I'm not saying men don't do it, but I don't see them very often. The only times a man over 30 has ever canvassed at my door - they were the candidate (local elections only).
RFK jr is on record as of two days ago saying that will be his job in Trump's cabinet. Actually not only HHS, but also agriculture.I would consider betting a pie against it.
He did mention the Electoral Count Reform Act, mainly in noting that its primary applicability here would be to fast track judicial proceedings. I don't recall, but don't think it attached any criminal liability for just basic shenanigans, like a governor baselessly claiming massive election fraud and refusing to sign a certificate of ascertainment. That's all it could take to prevent electors from being properly appointed by a state, I think. They can't just show up in Washington and cast Electoral Votes if they haven't been formally named by their state's governor.Did Mystal analyze the revamped Title 3, US Code, which was specifically revised in response to Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election? I have only skimmed it, but don’t see obvious ways for a state legislature to prevent electors from casting their votes.
The price of democracy is eternal vigilance.I would honestly rather Trump win the election outright than Harris get enough votes to win only for the states GOP party to not certify their votes, or delay sending electors, anything where they are transparently trying to steal the election. To me, that would constitute an insurrection and probably justify Biden using emergency powers.
If Trump wins the EC, then well that sucks but thats the game. If he loses and tries hijinks, then its going to be bad. He doesn't care what happens to anyone, friend or foe, just as long as he wins. The question is will the rest of his lackeys go along with it. Who are the true believers that will do what he wants regardless of consequences, vs the opportunists that would be looking at a long jail sentence and can just find someone elses boots to lick when the party moves on from Trump?
If he gets in wait until RFK Jr tries to take on agribusiness - he won’t know what hit him.RFK jr is on record as of two days ago saying that will be his job in Trump's cabinet. Actually not only HHS, but also agriculture.
Andrew Ross Sorkin's NYT newsletter had something about this this morning. It suggests that it would be a "health czar" role with cabinet officials and federal regulators basically reporting into him. However, it would not be an official role because that would require confirmation which could be difficult. I'm not sure what remotely qualifies him for this role other than the admiration of the many Americans who are skeptical about science and the importance of trained experts. Which scares the heck out of me. And should scare the heck out of everyone but apparently doesn't.RFK jr is on record as of two days ago saying that will be his job in Trump's cabinet. There have been plenty of other guys when I've canvassed in Southern PA but I would agree that the crowd was a majority women.Yep. A friend (a 71 year old woman) is canvassing this weekend in PA. Why would that be? With the extreme margins in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin? Hard to overcome on Election Day.Early vote totals are not predictive of any particular election outcome.
There is a whole lot about the Trump agenda that will arouse the Big Bidness community should he win. They may like the promised easing of regulations, tax cuts, etc, but tell me how they'll like it when their undocumented work force is tossed out of the country. No more vegetables, no more milk, no more meatpacking industry, on and on...unless, of course, you think it is all a big bluff for show.If he gets in wait until RFK Jr tries to take on agribusiness - he won’t know what hit him.
At least in the past, it was very hard to predict the displacement factor. Maybe times have changed. Why would that be? With the extreme margins in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin? Hard to overcome on Election Day.
NM? New Mexico? Thats solidly bluePersonally I’m writing NV & NC off and see NM and GA as likely Trump. If Harris wins the usual plus PA, WI, MI and that single EV does she get to 270?
You mean like the wall? Or being too busy saving America to play golf? Oh ye of little faith. There is a whole lot about the Trump agenda that will arouse the Big Bidness community should he win. If he has no official role he will have no power. Trump will likely give him an office and then forget about him.Andrew Ross Sorkin's NYT newsletter had something about this this morning. Yes, I meant AZ and corrected it above.NM? New Mexico? Thats solidly blue
So you'd rather see Trump successfully steal the election? Because those were the choices I was presenting in that scenario. Number 1 choice is Harris wins and whatever scheme Trump tries fails hard. If Trump successfully subverts the will of the people, this country is doomed.I can't possibly agree less with this.
The most important question here is how many stuff animal heads will be hanging on the walls of his office. I mean, does he still have that whale head somewhere? Or the baby bear?If he has no official role he will have no power. Trump will likely give him an office and then forget about him.
It seemed like the people who had the most influence on Trump in his last term were not cabinet members but others. So similarly, Kennedy doesn't need a cabinet position to get power. That being said, there is a part of me that thinks Trump is using Kennedy to win the votes of Kennedy's supporters then once Trump is in office he will forget about him. And I think this is the thinking of at least some others who think that Kennedy is wacko but they otherwise support Trump. If he has no official role he will have no power. Trump will likely give him an office and then forget about him.
