2024-25 Announcer Thread

I have to admit, I don't get the CA hate. I don't think he's great, he's not even all that good but he's not terrible and I just don't find him annoying the way many of you do. And I say this after I thought he did a worse job last night than he usually does. At no time to I find myself hurling curses and yelling 'shut up' at the TV like I do when JBilas is on the mic. I know this puts me in the minority around here so I've waited a while before posting this and paid more attention the last couple of times he's worked. He's just OK.

I think Cory is a good guy and is pretty knowledgeable. However, at times he talks about himself too much. I do like him more than Bilas though.

CA is annoying at times . but not to the level of packer . Packer has had me looking for one of those foam bricks you could throw at the TV. CA isnt to that level.hes last on my current list though.

Oglesby is under rated .I really enjoyed his broadcast. I had shulman, Burke, bilas Vitale.
I'd like to see Oglesby for the entire tournament.

Agree. He's terrible. Did I mis-hear, or did he actually say, of course based on his constant conversations with his best friend Kelly Flagg, that Kelly feels just as close to Khaman Maluach as she does to her own son(s)? What a dumb thing to say. One of many last night.

He also said that Jon Scheyer was, under Coach K, Duke's "coach in waiting." According to everything I have ever heard or read about the succession, that statement is simply false. At least as that term "coach in waiting" is commonly used, as that term is used when the next coach has already been decided upon, and publicized as such, prior to the retiring coach actually leaving.

To be fair, CJS was announced as the next coach before K’s final year, IIRC. So for one year, if my mind isn’t playing tricks, he was a coach-in-waiting.

I say we trade Cory for Shulman and that pairs Bilas with Alexander. Now that would be a mute game for sure.
