Post your complaints about C. Alexander and others here.

I'll start. Corey didn't bother me too much tonight, but maybe that was because our team's defense was so good. And I thought that he and Grant did truly seem to be friends, so I'll give Corey a break.

I thought the color announcer in the Lincoln game was good, but I don't remember her name.

That was Debbie Taylor, who is basically the color commentator that Duke uses whenever they have to staff a basketball broadcast. She will be on most of the ACCNX women's games played at Cameron.

I like the announcing team for Saturday’s Wofford game. Kevin Brown (Baltimore Orioles’ announcer) is solid on play-by-play, and I’ve always been very impressed with Jon Crispin, formerly lead commentator for Big Ten Network, now with ESPN. I rank Crispin up there with Bonner and Gminski.

I’ll hope they stick to description and analysis, and do not attempt to entertain us.

Brown and Crispin seemed great to me. I really enjoyed listening to them. Crispin is quite good at pointing out weaknesses without belaboring the point. As far as I'm concerned, they can replace Bilas and Shulman.

They seemed to be the rare announcers who make a blowout game still interesting, as they were continuing to comment primarily on the game itself, and not devolving into as much irrelevant nonsense. It was pretty refreshing to hear a couple guys continuing to put in the work, even though the game itself was out of hand.

I agree. I liked them a lot. They went off on more tangents than they likely would in a close game, but still remained pretty focused on the game. It was also a good balance between providing interesting analysis, keeping it light and enjoyable, not reading off a sheet of facts providing by an intern, and not showing off who they know/how important they think they are. Perhaps they went a bit too far at times such as the discussion of their favorite onions, but it was fine.

Brown's voice sounds a lot like Joe Buck.

I enjoyed them just a little less than my pregame praise (post ^) led me to anticipate. As CNC suggests, a blowout isn't the best test of their quality as an announcing team. I may be too unforgiving, expecting 99% game-focus. Listening to CA has made me pre-disgruntled about most announcing teams.

Is anyone watching the Baylor/UConn game? Bill Raftery is calling the game. He is such a great announcer. How is he still doing this at 81 years old? I feel like he hasn’t missed a beat. He might be my favorite.
Also, Gampel seems like such a wine and cheese crowd. Would expect more for a top 25 non conference home matchup.

Jay Williams said something about Dylan Harper being better than Cooper Flagg. I haven’t seen Harper play but I know he’s scored quite a bit. I wonder about the level of competition he’s played against thus far.

I know he's one of ours, but Jay Williams has a lot a terrible takes. It's gotten to the point where I just tune him out.

While we're on the subject of Jays, Bilas made another attempt at over-objectification yesterday, calling the swipe on Evan's head in mid-air "just a basketball play". Sorry, Jay, but that was the easiest F1 call in the history of F1 calls. On the other hand, I thought his commentary for last night's game was really good, so there's that.

I noted several times where Bilas (as usual) over-compensated on his objectivity towards Duke. In other words, he took a position that gave the benefit of the doubt to the opponent so that no one can call him a Duke homer. I find it to be patronizing although I know many here will dissent.

Same for Jay Williams and his voice was very hard to hear over the background crowd noise. He seems to mumble at times.

Find someone who looks at you the way JWill looks at UNC. Dude mentioned Armando Bacot constantly last night. Bacot played there for 14 years. Do we have to hear about him for 14 more?

Bilas overcompensates to avoid appearing like a homer, but he bleeds Duke blue. I was at the 2019 ACCT final where he presented the trophy to the team, and I promise you that guy is one of us. I’m sure JWill does too, but he actually makes me wonder sometimes.

He balanced it out by saying Auburn should have been called for a foul (they were not) in that time dilation period with 2:30 left on the clock.
