there was a great (PBS?) special some years ago on a bunch of guys who managed to recreate the trebuchet...fascinating....they built themselves a pretty nice one. awesome weapon.

My most cancelable take is that none of you actually like turkey and you’re just eating it at Thanksgiving out of tradition and inertia.

And now I wonder, did CD sneak in some time in Nashville that he hasn't told us about? But then the self-deprecation(not sure the right word) is in the same vein but not the same style. Or is it?

I thought I was the only one. So THIS is what it sounds like when doves cry.
 
My girlfriend and I are making cheesecakes. 1 for her mom's and 1 for my fam. Neither of us have ever made a cheesecake. Man I hope they turn out ok. We have lunch at her dad's (first time meeting him and his wife) and dinner with my family (she has mer my kids, but not my parents, brother, SIL and nieces). Then dinner Friday at her mom's, whom I have met. Big couple of days. And this girl is freaking amazing. Hoping not to screw this up. Also she is a comedic genius.

I make the traditional Philadelphia cream cheese recipe: 4 packs, 4 eggs, no sour cream. I use lime juice instead of vanilla and add a ton of lime zest. Top with fresh strawberries. This is a traditional Mother's Day gift, so fresh strawberries.

Our camp counselors used to keep us busy for a couple of hours by letting us crab. Yes, chicken necks tied to a string, weighted with a rock. Someone nearby with a net. Good eatin'!
