Study Reveals a Striking Health Disparity Between US And UK Adults
Health 10 October 2024 By David Nield

At least we know what they aren't doing. Must be the food.

Higher food standards (at least for now). Plus people, like most parts of the world, just walk more. The vastness of the US and it's low density just makes that harder to do for everyday tasks. If I want to do something (work, shop, go to the park or diner or the pub, etc) I have to take a car. If I want to take a walk I have to set out that time to take a walk. Over there you can combine the two. I would bet if you compared the US Northeast to the UK it would be very similar. My mom just came back from a month in England visit my grandmother. She was averaging seven/eight miles a day which is more than double what she does here. Also free healthcare is nice too.

several. I'll let you know, but point taken (though I am told she (!) wrote a spirited critique of Mr Justice Kavanaugh that has been well received by folks of my ilk...

Mentally, I was thinking he - showing my bias! Now that I know better, I am in complete agreement with you on the likely improvement to your neighborhood. ;)

Speaking of travel my wife, daughter and I are headed to Montreal in a couple of weeks. It will only be a few days but is there any must see items?
YES. Will send a food.list if you PM me. Unlike those folks on the barbecue and grilling threads, my expertise lies in consumption. I dare say I'm the best eater in all of DBR. And I would challenge anyone to an eating duel.

Weather or Other because at some point you can start to ask for compensation depending on the airline?
Definitely other. They just told the flight attendants that they finally have the part they need and are working on the plane. It will depart 8 1/2 hours after initially scheduled. FlightAware showed that tail number plane landing here last night and not moving since.

I may have missed it but I hope you arr going somewhere fun. And that the delay doesn't get longer. (My nephew had a delay of 2 days on their trip to Tahiti)
Oh wow, hope the delay was somewhere great or at least at home. I basically lost 8 of the 20 hours of daylight I will have in Phoenix.

But you avoid the whole category of sugar don't you?
Yes. And my new gf LOVES sweets. Doesn't eat mammals (animal rights thing) though. Doesn't care if I do. I eat a TON of seafood anyway. So I am kind of exploring chicken dishes when we cook together. Had a couple of her best friends who are also professors over last week. They were delightful and hilarious. We cooked shrimp creole and corn maque choux for them.
