Study Reveals a Striking Health Disparity Between US And UK Adults
There's a health divide across the Atlantic Ocean, a new study reveals: British adults in their 30s and 40s are faring better than their similarly-aged counterparts in the US, particularly in terms of cardiovascular health.www.sciencealert.com
At least we know what they aren't doing. Must be the food.
Higher food standards (at least for now). Plus people, like most parts of the world, just walk more. The vastness of the US and it's low density just makes that harder to do for everyday tasks. If I want to do something (work, shop, go to the park or diner or the pub, etc) I have to take a car. If I want to take a walk I have to set out that time to take a walk. Over there you can combine the two. I would bet if you compared the US Northeast to the UK it would be very similar. My mom just came back from a month in England visit my grandmother. She was averaging seven/eight miles a day which is more than double what she does here. Also free healthcare is nice too.
