The longest thread ever

Speaking of travel my wife, daughter and I are headed to Montreal in a couple of weeks. It will only be a few days but is there any must see items?
quite a few. Great dining and walking city...you can leisurely walk up Mt Royal for a nice view...if you have a newish and desirable car, be careful, Montreal and Canada have a huge auto theft problem...cars go from your parking spot to freighters in the Port of Montreal and away they go.
But maybe you're flying in?
Old Montreal is scenic and nice, assume you are staying downtown?

Thanks for the warning about car theft because we are driving in. Yes we are staying downtown and have a couple of tours scheduled including a night time haunted thing, which I believe is in Old Montreal. I’m sketchy on all the details because it is kind of my birthday gift built around going to see Evanescence for the ladies (although I do like the music too).

Excellent! I often check out the Lexus forum as we have a relatively new one, and the theft issue in Canada right now is crazy....people in the Toronto suburbs have had cars stolen multiple times, they are even putting in metal posts to surround their cars so they can't be moved.

Do you know your hotel? Hopefully it is downtown so you can park at the hotel, walk around, then hope it's there when you leave!
Otherwise Montreal is a safe, wonderful city...

Just in case is wondering what will happen in the future....obviously some guess work, but most of it is going to happen...it is the far future, so not for another 10,000 years at least.

Worst is 500-800 million years from now in which the suns increasing luminosity and warming (not man made related) as the planet will suffer mass extinctions and begin to doom life on earth. :(

That was a trippy trippy read.

Niece Elizabeth and now Nephew Andrew are in Italy for their honeymoon. The Pope does a special blessing for newlyweds - picture lots of people outside St. Peter's in their wedding attire. She sent us pictures if the two of them meeting the Pope. So very cool.
