To be fair, Kaepernick didn't really make it a thing at all until someone noticed during a preseason game that he was sitting on the bench during the national anthem. He practiced personal, silent protest until media caught wind of it and he rightly felt the need to justify his absence from participation in the anthem (because god forbid!)I thought about that. He doesn’t make it part of game day. Still, he’s not coming to my birthday party.
Also, in further defense of Kaep, there's a big difference between silently protesting on behalf of a mistreated minority group versus going out of your way - loudly - to tell all women how they should live and that their ideal life should be spent in subservience.
And now, back to the football! I'm ready for the November-January 49ers to make an appearance - so sick of this playing down to competition and digging themselves a hole nonsense early every season.
