NFL 2024-25 General Discussion

Perhaps the worst combination of draft pick trades and resultant player selection (Young) OF ALL TIME.
I never followed up on it but I remember Josh McCown telling Stroud at a workout he couldn't wait to play basketball with him when he got to Charlotte. Then draft night comes and they take Young. I think the owner overruled them. Young is already looks like a bust.

And yet (and I'm asking as a fellow Seahawks fan), how're the Seahawks actually doing since then?
Better than if we had Russ, that's for sure. We got some great defensive talent out of those trade picks. Noah Fant is a nice piece. And having Drew Lock as a workable backup QB was good insurance.

I like what I see from our defense this year - it seems that Mike MacDonald has convinced our guys that open-field tackling is a priority.

Our issue (as it seems it has been since Hutchinson) is offensive line. If we can get some room for Geno to operate and find our (very talented) receiving corp, that would be let our run game blossom.

I'm guessing my (our!) Seahawks are somewhere between 8 and 10 wins this year. I'd be more bullish, but out division is gonna be a serious grind again this year

Man, I was so hopeful that Bryce was going to be really good. I am still trying to give him grace since it is his second year. Can you believe how bad Baker Mayfield was in Carolina, and now look at him in Tampa. Crazy!!

That's a great answer, and a more optimistic take than I would have given. That first sentence is indisputably true.

There is a good chance Tua Tagovailoa has taken the last snap of his NFL career.

And that, in combination with one of the worst performances by a Dolphins team (other than maybe some icy playoff losses) I have ever seen, means our season is likely over after two weeks.

Yeah, he can still fling it with the best of ‘em. Greatest arm in the history of football, with his otherworldly combination of jaw-dropping velocity, accuracy and timing. No one has ever thrown a football like Aaron Rodgers.

There are things about him off the field that I don’t particularly care for, but my god, what a talent.
His stats in his two starts as a Jet do not differ considerably from those of the much-maligned Wilson, to be truthful. He LOOKS better, but so far he has not actually BEEN better.

Makes one wonder whether Wilson might not have had a chance of being a decent QB had he not gone to a dumpster-fire team like the Jets.

For me the NFL is uninteresting at present. There’s just no team capable of beating KC in the playoffs. Add Swift’s obnoxious cheering being shown at every turn in a Chief’s game, and I’m just not enthusiastic at all. Wake me up in 10 years when this dynastic run is over.

No offense to Chiefs fans intended, but at least when New England was going to all those SB’s they had the decency to lose every so often. 😁

Come on, man, stop playing around. I turned it off with the Bengals leading 25-23 and KC facing a 4th and 16 with about 30 seconds to play.

No way the Chiefs got out of that one. No chance.

Sadly, I had zero doubt they were going to win, even in that situation.

Watching tonight's SNF, at the last commercial break they played out a few melodic notes of a nondescript song.
I perked up at it though. It was the opening for "Pets" by Porno For Pyros. Gotta wonder if that was a nod to the news of the week. :ROFLMAO:

Still speechless at how bad the Lion was today. I hope Goff thanked Campbell for the
warm bottle of milk and soft blanket that he draped over Jared's shoulders.

“My friend says we’re like the dinosaurs,
only we’re doing ourselves in 🤷‍♂️
…..much faster than they ever did
We’ll make great pets
We’ll make great pets”

Fun little song with a cool vibe 🎵
