ND /Texas A&M how many synonym phrases are there for poetic justice?

Agree. I know this website and forum is dedicated chiefly to Duke basketball, which is great, but I often speculate that round ball fans may not have fully understood how deeply the Elko/Leonard departures affected those few of us who, as Duke football fans first, dwell in the arena of the forever forlorn. I don’t hate either Elko or Leonard, but only because I’m a Duke gentleman (even if only law school). I just replay last year’s Clemson game whenever I’m feeling (Duke) blue.

A&M has a pretty favorable schedule, all the ranked teams they play are home games. Though last night shows the 12th man may not be helping much.

I am not about to dive into that cesspool, but I am very seriously happy to hear this.
It's actually a lot of fun if you hate how Elko left last year. I'll be rooting for him to lose every game, in the most excruciatingly way possible, until he is fired and retires. At that point I'll root for him to fail in whatever else he does.

And yes, this is exacerbated by his stupid "prevent" defense that cost us the Notre Dame game plus led to Riley getting injured. But mostly it's about the lack of spine he showed when he abandoned his team in the middle of the night.

Agree. Their remaining games against ranked teams (#11 Mizzou, #13 LSU, #4 Texas) are all at home; their toughest road games are in the Swamp against the unranked Gators (who just got curb-stomped by Miami) and at unranked Auburn (they also have Miss St, Arkansas, and South Carolina on the road, but the team we saw last night should be able to beat all three); they don't have to play either 'Bama or Georgia in the regular season. My guess is aTm is 4-1 when Mizzou comes to town the first week of October and Aggie nation is singing a different tune. As we well know, Elko tends to win games with somewhat equal talent and steals one or two when overmatched. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go 9-3 in his first season at College Station.

💯 Fellow DC/Baltimore Olds will know what I'm talking about when I say anybody who pulls a Bob Irsay will not be forgiven in this lifetime.

The Bolsheviks versus the National Socialists. More properly, Joe versus Adolph.

Paterno versus Rupp?

I'll confess something: I really don't understand the negative vibes toward Riley Leonard unless you plan to do the same for Jeremy Roach, and I don't think you do. What's the difference? That Duke football lost to Notre Dame last season, but Duke basketball beat Baylor? That Roach wasn't injured in that game? That Leonard moved up to a bigger football program, while Roach's transfer was more lateral? That Roach was at Duke for 4 years, while Leonard was here for 3? That we somehow care more that Leonard pulled a Sam Hartman, while Roach pulled a RayJ Dennis? That we don't know any cute stories about how Mama Roach motivates her son with ironic criticism?

Please don't take this as a call to be equally negative toward Jeremy Roach. As you can probably tell, I see the two transfers as somewhat similar, and am okay with both. I just get the impression that Leonard's departure is seen as a betrayal, while Roach's move is natural, or just business, or something.

Well said, Brevity. We don't have to like it ... and I will be rooting heavily against Leonard the rest of the way, just because ... the Irish. But your comparison seems apt to me.

Both transfers are fine. Both kids did what they felt was in their best interests... as would we all. I wish both of them nothing but success—they represented Duke admirably while they were here. While I don't know either personally, they both seem like wonderful individuals.
