NCAA Football 2024 (national discussion)

Vandy had some strong showings before beating Bama: OT win over State; 2OT loss at top-ten Mizzou.

I hope they get to 6 wins.

After falling behind 14-0, South Carolina now up on Alabama 19-14.

Alabama survives…

Wild ending to this one. South Carolina scores with under a minute to go to make it 27-25 Alabama, and then they miss the 2-point conversion.

Alabama fumbles the on-side kick and South Carolina recovers. Out of timeouts, they have to move quickly to get the ball in field goal range. On the first down, the pass is deflected, but one of their linemen gets the ball anyway and gains some yardage. On the second down, Tide defenders force the South Carolina QB way backfield, so he throws the ball away. With about 13 seconds left, he throws a long pass that gets intercepted in the end zone, and the Alabama guy who caught the ball is about to kneel, hesitates, and runs out of the end zone, going another 30-40 yards before sliding to the ground once time ran out.

An unofficial highlights video has already been posted.

Boy were they lucky. SC only needed to get into FG range after recovering onsides kick with 43 seconds left!
It should never have gotten there, the guy that scored the TD for Alabama that put them up 8 should have gone down. Less than 2min, no timeouts SC, you knell 3x and it’s over. If it wasn’t pounded into the receivers to get on the turf after the sticks, then a coach needs to be fired

Man I miss Riley at Duke. It was nice to have a QB who could run. It opens up your passing game and running game so much.
Not sure I've ever seen a runner who broke tackles and escaped the way he did....his escape movements are almost non perceptible....how he got free remains a mystery. Clearly has terrific vision, instincts and very strong lower body.

Agreed - really impressed with the level of play! These offenses are really good despite both defenses being strong.
OSU threw it away with a bad penalty and then bad decision making in the last few seconds. good stand by oregon in a situation where it seemed sure OSU would get into range.
