Board software - Q&A for the new stuff

Same here. I'd love it if that setting could be lengthened to 30 minutes, rather than 5. 15 is close to a minimum, IMO.
I would agree. It takes my brain several minutes to adjust after posting something that I will regret after thinking about it (which I never seem to do before hitting "Post", even though I know I should).

One problem I see with the long period for editing is that while editing, a bunch of folks reads the original post, and even reply to the original post. Then at a later time, the original edited post is submitted... but a bunch of folks have already moved on.

The new “ignore poster” feature rocks! When someone quotes the ignored poster, the quote does not appear in the new post like it did before.

That, and the improved search feature, addresses the two biggest nits I had about the old site.

Nice, and thanks.

I did notice the improved "ignore poster" functionality ... but did not want to be the first to cop to it.

Btw, has anyone heard from 75Crazie lately? ;-)

Not only does the “ignore poster” feature block a quote from that poster, it stops their original posts from even appearing in your feed. It really is as if that person no longer exists in your world.

As a mod, I highly recommend that posters consider this feature if other particular posters bug you. While reporting actually offensive or actual problematic posts is an important way that we are alerted to problems, reports of “this guy gets under my skin” can be self-remedied by simply ignoring the poster. It also cuts down on the back-office work for us, which is appreciated.

I was one of the biggest complainers about the "ignore" feature on the old board. I quickly learned that it's much much improved here.

That's worth the price of admission.

This may have already been discussed up thread (and I'm too lazy to go back through all of the posts) but I am unable to "bold" any section, if I am quoting another poster or replying to a post. On my screen, my "formatting" icons are shadowed and not working. Am I doing something wrong?

I haven't read this entire thread, but did we lose the ability to "spork" and collect "Sporks?" I was kinda proud of having maxed out my sporks!

I think I was 5-6 hours - pretty sure it was down before the soccer game started. I thought it was targeted revenge at me for my bad Taylor Swift joke in the Presidential thread.

Eh, suspect I’m the real culprit. Some comments on the Presidential thread that may have been uncomfortably frank for some.
