I guess Packman answered better than I could. I do think this Presidential election has more hate from both sides. Not only for the candidates, but also the candidate's supporters. I'm not saying that applies to all the supporters, but it seems to be worse than I can ever remember. That's sad.
I think there is also a difference in HOW much you dislike the candidates.

For example, maybe I don't want to vote for a candidate and dislike them but that's just because I think they are wrong politically and we'd be better off with another candidate. Then there is entirely different level of dislike when you think they are a horrible no good human being that is going bring apart the downfall of the country from which we may never recover.

How do I rate those one a 10 point scale?

Yeah this is where things have degraded since (because of?) Obama winning twice

The second category goes to 11...

The question there, like it is a number of other places, is how much this cannibalizes the election day vote.
Its generally considered a model change in terms of when republicans are voting compared to 2020 and 2022. There actually isn't a ton of evidence that the electorate has increased in size

Here's an interesting piece about how to watch the TV coverage next Tuesday, and look for clues in early returns in states such as Indiana and Kentucky to get an idea of the likely outcome.

Personally, I plan to turn off all media and curl up in a fetal position until at least Wednesday, and perhaps longer.

In talking about the exurbs, since New England doesn't really do counties, one of the reasons Massachusetts is so blue is because the Boston and Worcester exurbs are in New Hampshire.

Unbelievable. Supreme Court disregards its own precedent and allows the Virginia purge to move forward.

Actually, it’s entirely believable

Given the evidence that the gender gap is getting larger, I do wonder what methods the Republicans are going to start trying to prevent women from voting.

NBC News has a neat map for earlier voting. It's a central place to see how things currently stand.

In 2020, my state (SC) cast a total of 2,513,329 ballots. As of Oct 31 it has cast 1,077,451 with two days left in the period.
Interesting. I honestly thought both candidates would surge right past the 80 million mark. Perhaps not...

The governator Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) comes out for Harris.

Buzz Aldrin comes out for Trump.

Remember, new rules forbid snarky comments even though it's being teed up for us.

There was an ugly battle between Buzz Aldrin and his children 6 years ago over whether or not he had dementia. He is now 94. I doubt a celebrity endorsement will ever affect me all that much, but I would never say never. That said, I do know that the endorsement of a 94 year old celebrity will never affect me, not even when I'm 94.

Thanks for this! I am bucking the trend in Massachusetts. My husband and all of of my sons have already voted*. I'm waiting for Tuesday.

*My youngest came home from college for the weekend to vote early. It's the first time he is eligible to vote for President. He registered last summer at City Hall. His name was misspelled by whoever entered him into the system. He was denied the ability to vote at the early voting location. (We discovered the problem later.) He is now back at school. He has tried to fix the problem, unsuccessfully, by email and by phone. He is uncomfortable requesting an absentee ballot under the wrong name and has decided not to vote. I am not happy about this but we are going back to City Hall when he is home on winter break to fix it in person. I told him that since we live in Massachusetts, I will let it go.
