I had sources that told me representatives from the Gator Bowl and the Duke's Mayo Bowl were in attendance at Wally Wade last night. I'm with you OPK, I think after a few years of some cold weather bowl games, it's about time for us to land one of the bowls in Florida or California. Only way to ensure that remains a possibility is to keep winning and show those bowls that picking us will lead to a competitive matchup.
I’m buying first round at whatever bar we get together at if we get the Holiday Bowl.

ESPN's dual consensus is Duke's Mayo bowl vs Nebraska.
Winning coach gets to do this...

FYI - The Holiday Bowl is moving to the suburbs this year. No longer at the Padres field downtown. Now will be at the SDSU/soccer stadium where the Chargers field used to be.

Excuse my ignorance as I lived in San Diego before but it was a longtime ago. Are you referring to Jack Murphy Stadium in Mission Valley?

It’s called Snapdragon and it’s a new stadium in what used to be the gigantic parking lot surrounding the Murph. I’ve only been to one game there, but it was a fun place to watch a football game — the kind played exclusively with your feet.

Of course now they are hosting both Aztecs football games, The Wave (NWSL team), a coming-soon MLS team and other games, so I’ve heard there are issue with the playing surface. Hopefully they will have it in good shape for Bowl season.

Let’s hope we get to see the Blue Devils grace the field!

(Although still waiting for scouting on the Tijuana tat scene)
If it was the old days, I’d tell you to head downtown San Diego but I have no idea if the tattoo parlors on Broadway are still in business. I can confirm the tattoo on my upper left arm is still present. There are also parlors in Hong Kong I can recommend.

Me too — I’ll travel for a free drink!

I’ve been busy scouting the tattoo scene and can report that tattoos in TJ are old news. The hot freshness is cheap canine dental work and risky but cheap elective surgery.

The tattoo scene in Downtown is alive and well, but very pricey! My retired Marine FIL would suggest you head north to Oceanside. He didn’t have to pay obscene amounts to get his Marine Corps tattoo covered over by an eagle when he returned from Vietnam and found his skin art less than socially acceptable.

Yeah that was a long time ago, but you can probably still get a cheaper tattoo in Oceanside than downtown San Diego these days.

That list forgot the newly added matchup between FSU and UNC - The Toilet Bowl
Looking at Carolina’s remaining schedule will depress the faithful. With all due respect to NC State there’s nothing on their schedule to get excited about. Win or lose no opportunities remain to reclaim a measure of respect and indicate the program is healthy. Football fan limbo and a lost season.

Recalling Diaz’s halftime speech of the UNC game, it’s Nice to have high profile teams left on the schedule. Opportunities await.
