Well there are 12 in the list as the CFP will include the top 5 conference champions. It would really take a bad combination of events for the ACC champ to not be in the top 5. The last 3 years, the ACC/ND has had 11/10/12 bowl eligible teams. SMU is added to the mix, so 13 teams is a reasonable possibility. However, there's also a chance 2 out of the 16 total teams (Cal/Stanford go to P12 bowls) make the CFP.

In any event, the lowest ACC team will still bump a G5 team out of one of the low end bowls if we run out of contracted bowls.

Don’t give up on defending the Sun Bowl tho. Belk’s/Mayo is a perfectly fine new bowl. But it’s not historic, nor woven into the fabric of the community, nor in an awesomely dramatic stadium setting like in El Paso.

(And I didn’t even have to get down to tattoos, which are far superior in El Paso/Juarez.)

Somehow I knew the subject of tattoos would come up in this bowl thread...call me clairvoyant. I agree with the sentiment though that we should be more concerned now about getting (at least) that 6th win. I trust/hope that the team hasn't shot their wad, but I'm pretty focused on the game down in Hotlanta. Correct me if I'm wrong (note to self...man, this is DBR!😁), but I believe Fred Goldsmith's 1st year was the last time we were 6-0. Let's recreate some of the magic of 1994 at the expense of the Yellow Jackets, and take it from there? I will say this though...I'm starting to get some real positive vibes in regard to this team with the emergence of the running game!

Giddiness aside, our final five games are:

#21 SMU
@ #6 Miami
@ State
VT
@ Wake

Hard for me to see better than 9-3, hope to not see worse than 8-4. Higher or lower is of course possible. So I’d call any warm weather bowl a win.

I would be shocked if we win either of the next two games. Two of the last three is probably our ceiling with one win most likely.

The next two would be shocking wins.

I’m s bit more optimistic about the last three but I would not be surprised by any outcome.

It seems like we got through tonight without major injuries (IIRC) which helps.
