The longest thread ever

I cleaned my gutters more thoroughly than I ever have. Pretty much guarantees it won't rain until the new year.
today's geezer tip (no idea how old you are) is don't get on too many ladders. Couple of friends have taken recent tumbles doing Wallenda work, it's just not worth it.
For modest height work, we are major proponents of the Little Giant brand of stepladders, very robust with handles to hold on to.

I still have a few more years left in me, but I know what you mean. I do what I need to do on the ladders and not a lot more.

Not just the old folks. Neighbor across the street, mid-30s, two young children, broke his neck power washing his second floor on a ladder.

This atheist is not ashamed to say that the 60 Minutes piece on the restoration and imminent re-opening of Notre Dame brought tears to my eyes.
You do not have to be religious to appreciate the architecture and, especially, that stained glass. I was definitely brought to tears when the fire happened. The restoration work they have done is AMAZING! I want to go back now and see it with the walls all free of hundreds of years of dIrt and grime. Like being there 800 years ago.

I couldn't watch any coverage of the fire at the time. The show last night was the first time I have watched any footage of that fire, and it was just as horrific as I had imagined. I am gobsmacked at the scale and quality of the work that has been done there.
