I didn't get a chance to stop by as the band was getting lined up for the team to make the walk when I was able to go by. Next game!
Thank you, CB&B! My Dear Wife's Iced Lemon Cake is my ticket to tailgate popularity. I'm okay with that. Win-win! And it's super fun offering bites to fans of our opponents. Typically, cognitive dissonance ensues: Free yummies from a Duke fan? What's the catch? [no pun intended] Should I have my taster test it first? But he seems friendly, and it does look good. Okay, I'll try it. Yum. Very yum. Another micro bridge across our many divides. On the right of the first photo is DBR's own esteemed HustlePlays. His dear wife (not pictured, that's my stepmom) sent him to us with her delicious Iced Lemon Cake so many times!
That's good, Ozzie! Buenisimo! Total trivia: Yesterday, after our band marched by, which was totally awesome, as our students say, our Team marched by. Manny was in front, and we happened to make eye contact. I gave him an Alto Cinco and wished him Buena Suerte [Good Luck]! He gave me a surprised, warm smile.Buenos Diaz!
RJ199, all vicarious and feigned humility aside, what you say is true: Not only were the brisket and the lemon pound cake hors categorie good, they were obviously the Keys to Victory. I have never understood those churlish minds who yammer, "Correlation is not cause" when our own lying eyes and taste buds tell us it's true! Thanks CB&B! Still the best tailgate of the bunch. As I told @hustleplays , I knew we were going to win after tasting that brisket and his wife's lemon pound cake. Never in doubt.

Since moving back to Florida a few years ago, we haven't had occasion to attend as many Duke football games as we would like. But we were fortunate to be in Durham this weekend for the Homecoming festivities, including the delightful comeback win over UNC. A highlight for me on Saturday was the opportunity to enjoy a pregame visit with the True Blue 'Cue Crew (should that be 'Que Crew?) Tailgate, where I had the pleasure of renewing some old acquaintances and being introduced to several members of the Crew I had not previously met. Special thanks to Bob Green for the refreshing IPAs, and to hustleplays for the tasty lemon cake. You folks are fabulous hosts!
Thanks and great pic, CB&B! I had so much fun talking with so many wonderful Duke students and hawking the famed LPC. This gal, Reiley, is a poly sci major who will work for one of our great Senators from AZ. She is a gifted salesperson. We would look down the sidewalk and pick our "mark," either a Duke or a Tar Heel, and see what happens. Even when her offering was dismissively refused [which was not often], she would look at me and laugh, communicating "Can you believe that?" Didn't take anything personally. But more often than not her winning smile would coax the passersby to act in their own best interest. [No one regretted savoring a morsel.] She is a positive force and will only grow in impact. Teaching and being with our students keeps me as young as possible. It's a privilege to be here at Duke.Stray, thanks again for joining us. One of my fav pics from the day was of one of Hustleplays' own students, doing just as he said, offering bites of his Dear Wife's lemon cake to the passing masses, as HP gives an approving thumbs up. Happy that Helene didn't keep you from making the trip to Durham and that you and Mrs. Stray were able to join us. As for "'Que vs 'Cue", that was a discussion we had many, many years ago when we were entering our first BBQ competition. 'Cue happily won that debate. (And we didn't do too shabbily in the cookoff!)

Okay so I'm going to be able to get to the stadium early this time. Where do I stop and who do I talk to?We get gifted a night game for our next game, which in addition to us being bowl bound now, AND playing a ranked team, I'm expecting a big crowd at Wallace Wade on the 26th. As always, if you'd like to come waste valuable time with a great group of miscreants prior to kickoff, just post on the linked thread or send me a PM. The menu is one of my favorites every year. I'll be with our tents by 9am, firing up my smoker for some tasty turkeys and ribs.

Our tailgate location is in Card Lot. You will see the tents setup along the sidewalk. We have two tents side by side with one labeled TBCC and the other Crazie Talk.Okay so I'm going to be able to get to the stadium early this time. Where do I stop and who do I talk to?
Look forward to meeting some of you!
You are amazing. Looks wonderful.
Wish I could. I have not been in Wallace Wade since about 2007 or so. The same year I was last in Cameron. Maybe some day again. If you’ve never had a chance to at least go by and meet CB&B, you should. Great guy, fantastic host.
