Tailgate with The True Blue 'Cue Crew for Duke Football! The Diaz Days Edition

It's that time of year again! Once again, Duke has sent out notices to the groups on Blue Devil Alley about tailgate tent renewals, and of course we've signed up again for both of ours. Just as we do every year, we are inviting new members to join our wonderful collection of friends, both young and old, as we celebrate every Duke home football game with amazing comradery and great food.

As in years prior, Duke doesn't give us our two tents for free, but since we've been there since day one we are grandfathered into the price that we paid way back when, which has since doubled for new groups. Each of our members contributes a small cost that helps cover our heads, literally. ($75, which takes care of you and your family.)

Each game is catered by TBCC (myself and helping hand or two), and every game is a different menu. Depending on the time of day, it may be rib eye steaks, or it may be a brunch menu. I love to vary it up with the themes, so one game might be whole smoked turkey and another might be Mexican or Italian.

Adult beverages of course are always plentiful, with an active craft beer tasting table hosted by our resident brew snobs.

If it's too hot inside, the game is always on our TV under the shade of the tents.

One last thing...our tailgates are an ALL DAY AFFAIR! Even for 7PM kickoffs, I'll be out there by 9AM, firing up the grill and getting the food of the day prepped. We happily claim to be the first to arrive and the last to leave.

So, with all of that said, come join us for the 2024 Duke Football season, meet celebrities, drink well, eat well, and have a great time every game!

I also see accfan and lots of regulars in the pics. I had some class of 2000 Duke buddies in for the State game last year and they were blown away with how high quality this tailgate experience is. Highly recommended.

The real beergoddess and I are in and looking forward!
 
My son and I had a fantastic time at the ND game last year and definitely hope to make it down for a game! Highly recommend hanging out with CB&B!

Now that we're a month out from our first game, and because you're just dying to go hang out on the new deck in Wallace Wade after leaving our amazing tailgate, I'm bumping this thread to remind you of how much you want to make your Diaz Days even better! :)
 
I've been smiling wide since the 4PM kickoff time was announced for our game vs the cheaters. That's perfect!
I know that it will be a busy day, not only because of who we are playing but also because it's homecoming. That means that folks who aren't season regulars are going to be in attendance, which is great!

If you are one of those and would like to spend your pre-game celebrating with a great family of friends wearing the correct color blue, we'd love to have you join us that afternoon.

I'm posting this now since I'm smoking our brisket this coming weekend (unfortunately the Duke staff would likely not be happy with me camped out at midnight prior to game day :ROFLMAO: ), so I'm getting our attendance count done early enough to know if one brisket is going to turn into two.

I'm at all the home games this season (except VT since that will be my last night of five in Paris on a tenth anniversary trip with my wife) and unfortunately get there early and go straight up to the stats booth. Perhaps I'll get there earlier on 9/28 and walk by and see what you have to offer, if that works for you guys/gals.

You're certainly welcome to come by and introduce yourself! CB&B will be there most of the morning, I'll be there 3 1/2 hours before kickoff, as well as some of our other members.
