NFL 2024-25 General Discussion

Hey, Giants' management has made some good moves.

I'm sure there's something.

Give me a minute.
The Giants should throw Juan Soto money at the Eagles OL coach or someone similar. I am really nervous about the Sanders Family Circus descending on NY if they take Shadeur. If the behavior around Hunter's Heisman trip is any indicator, it will be a nightmare. The night was supposed to be about Hunter and his family but instead you had Shadeur, L'il Wayne, and various other members of the entourage.

The darn game wasn't televised in my part of the state. I was watching the NFL channel and I saw the Lions do an onside kick with 12 minutes to go in the game. Was that right and if so, what do you think of that strategy?
Dumb with the new rules. Dan Campbell isn't perfect and admitted the team wasn't prepared for the moment.

Will Detroit be getting their primary defensive players back by the playoffs? Certainly hope so as I’m rooting for them.

As good as Buffalo has looked, I have zero confidence in them getting to the Super Bowl. No one‘s going to beat the Chiefs in Kansas City. I’ve been ringing this bell for many years now, and it hasn’t failed me once. And it will not fail me again this year.
Mostly not getting them back. They got Reader and McNeil back for the Bills, too, but they've been playing a lot of third-stringers in recent weeks and will have to continue doing that. And now McNeil and their best CB seem to be out for the season, too. Maybe they can paste together a defense that will do well enough against just-okay offense to allow their offense to win games for them, but it's really hard to see them defending well against top-notch teams with the attrition they've had.

How do you rate your team’s management?
As an Eagles fan I give them an A. Consistent winner, mostly very good drafts.
I’m a lifelong Dolphins fan and I give my team’s management a C- It has been dreadful for years — more like a D- GM Chris Greer made a lot of good moves including draft picks and signings but that all led to last year when the team was loaded and expensive and still didn’t get it done. They shed some important players due to payroll and that in combination with Tua’s injuries have led to a very disappointing year. The overall quality of the roster has diminished significantly and I’m not sure what the plan is going forward. How many more years of peak Tyreek do we have? What can or should we count on w Tua? The defense needs a number of pieces. I don’t have a lot of hope this will be a real contender at any point in the foreseeable future.

David Montgomery, torn MCL, likely donezo. If there really is something called "grit" it's time to dump a truckload near Ford Field. "Don't ask for whom the bell tolls...'

What's your opinion of Tyrek Hill? He was rated in the top 3 of my fantasy polls. I picked him in 3 of the leagues I'm in. The other top player that has held me back is McCaffrey, who I picked first. Another player that I think may be nearing the end of his career is Debo Samuel. He's been terrible.

GoDuke!

Tyreek is a terrific player and still I think the most feared player in the league although others have gained ground on him in that category. He has not complained publicly about getting the ball less this year or the team’s decline. But he only has a few peak years left in all likelihood.

How many of you knew you could take a free field goal try after a fair catch? An obscure rule I remember learning about from my dad in the 60s.
Was more likely to happen back when the goalposts were on the goal line.

Lions channeling the Globetrotters again.
Next trick play: tossing a bucket of water/confetti into the opposing defense.
