Great to see another dominant defensive performance. This team does not take games off on the defensive end.

Man Man seemed to be everywhere, and absolutely shut down the paint for Pitt. He seems to be leveling up every game at this point.

Can't do much better than hold a top 20 offense to 21 points in the 2nd half. We're going to win a lot of games if we keep playing defense like this. Even the horrible officials couldn't spoil this one for Duke.

Damian Dunn should be ashamed of that stunt at the end of the game. Totally classless move.

Agreed. If Proctor had gotten hurt there at the end it would have been bad karma - with about 1:30 left I asked my son why the starters were still in. Especially against a friend in Capel. Last year's game is water under the bridge.

Nice game. Starters all did well. Cooper is really getting his groove.

I feel like the roster usage/minutes finally crystalized tonight and he wanted to ride that out.

Also, wasn't like Capel threw in the towel......was only an 11 point lead half way through the 2nd half.

Yeah--if Coach Jon left them in to make a statement rather than for some other reason. I'm still salty, too, about Hinson's antics last year, too, but he's no longer on the team, and Capel is one of ours. I would have been fine with subbing in after we beat back their last run to cut it to 11.

Subplot that will quickly get lost, but shouldn’t: Mason in the first half with Cooper in foul trouble. That was exactly why Jon went out and got that guy.

If a team can put up bricks a dozen times in the first half, sustain a whole bunch of bad calls and missed calls, turn the ball over frequently and then still pound an opponent with the same W/L record by 29 points, I’d say it was a darn good team.
