FB: Duke 26, UConn 21

I saw a CBS ranking that had UConn around 120 and Middle Tennessee was the team just behind. IOW a loss to either would be very bad…

Any given Saturday...we know Duke doesn't do well as a favorite, but I agree Duke should win this one. Duke is much closer to Maryland than Merrimack.

Duke was initially favored by 12, so they've gotten 4.5 in their favor since then. UConn must be real terribad because I wouldn't give Duke more than 7, 7.5.
Defense has given up 16 pts in 8 qtrs, thats pretty good. I imagine if they stay disciplined, I don't see UConn doing much. I'm sure they would appreciate not being on the field too much, so thats up to the offense. Lots to work on there. Duke should win this game but I still don't trust this team yet.

we can't be as charitable with the ball as we were vs NU. We're a much better team than UCONN but can't be philanthropic...I expect big big pressure on their QB.

The numbers don't tell us much about UConn; they blew out Merrimack and were drubbed by Maryland. I am more concerned about our injuries. Hopefully, the OT road win will be a confidence booster for a Duke team still searching for its identity. Defense and special teams could make a huge impact for us in this one.

ya, I am not worried about the defense, they've been solid and I think they will give UCONN fits. How our running game goes, whether we turn the ball over, whether we see the Murphy we saw at the end of the game vs the one earlier in the game, these are the major question marks.
Continue to run better, have Murphy continue his momentum, this is what I'd like to see.

I agree we need to see continued improvement in the running game.

1. 59 yards versus Elon
2. 93 yards versus Northwestern
3. ?? yards versus UConn

How much improvement? UConn is giving up 186 yards per game through two games so I would like to see a lot of improvement.

My confidence in Murphy and the receiving corps is high so I expect the passing attack will be solid.

Hopefully Murphy found his grove towards the end of the NU game. If he can continue that, the running game will open up.

I am disappointed that Peyton Jones hasn't gotten much PT. I thought he had the most speed among the running backs.

His reps will increase this week with Jaquez Moore unavailable. Star Thomas should move into the starting lineup so Peyton Jones should be option two. Who moves into the option three role? Is Marquise Collins healthy? Will Quran Boyd see action?

Additionally, Peyton Jones is our primary kick returner.
