Dukies on the 2025 PGA and LPGA Tours

And now he responds to his birdie by hitting a 158-yard shot into the water. Glad both guys made the cut but neither look like serious contenders…
Nope. And the leaders still at -13. Opportunity lost. Dahmen just sunk a 53-footer for eagle and Alex is missing 10-footers.

He really needs to get hot and birdie 3 of these last 5 holes. He's fallen 27 spots and it's only going to get worse if he doesn't do something.

Greyserman is off to a hot start going -3 through five holes. He is -11 overall and currently T14. Hopefully, he can keep it going.

I think -22 or more will win this thing. WAY too many players in the mix for at least one or two of them to go low today.

I’ve been guilty of underestimating the pressure of weekend golf. I would be surprised if anyone gets to -22 unless someone a little further back goes off. But I understand where you are coming from…

We need another Friday round out of Alex. A -7 will almost definitely get him a top-5 and into Arnie's tourney. A -5 might even do it. He's currently the 3rd alternate, but I would be shocked if 3 guys pulled out of a signature event. He needs to earn his way in.

Speaking of earning, I just don't get the reasoning of these sponsor's exemptions. Not the exemptions themselves, but who they go to. I understand Spieth and Fowler getting passes into the past 2 events, they're accomplished and very popular. But outside of that, the exemptions should go to golfers who are playing well but not quite qualifying through AON. This week's exemptions:

Rafael Campos: He has 1 win, last year's weak field Bermuda Championship. He's currently #146 in the FedExCup, with finishes this year of 57, CUT, CUT, CUT, CUT, and T34.

Mackenzie Hughes: 2 wins, the last in 2022. #118 in the FedExCup. Finishes of CUT, T58, T40, T36, 52.

Min Woo Lee: No wins. #70 in FedExCup. He got into the 1st 2 signature events from the Fall Points List (and didn't do particularly well in them), but has only played 1 other tournament this year and finished T12.

Justin Rose: Major winner, no-brainer.

Meanwhile Alex is #44 with finishes of T16, 11, CUT, T21, T10.

There are other golfers like Alex with better arguments than the 3 of the 4 who are playing next week, and it's not even close. It's not right.

To add to my previous post, the cut this weekend was -5. Campos shot -1, and Hughes shot +1. Grrrr.

I guess blatant lies and disinformation are the coin of the realm now.

“What our team did was try to pick players that, you know, it's about protecting and growing the game of golf as a whole. And doing what's the most balanced and fair process. Honestly, I think there was a lot of thought put into each and every player that was selected,” [tournament director Drew Donovan] said. “At the end of the day, it's who's getting the ball in the hole the fastest that are the ones who get the opportunities. You can't make everybody happy with exemptions. So you try to just do it as fair and balanced as possible.”

Max in trouble on the 14th and will be lucky not to bogey.

EDIT: Great job to make the par!
