Duke Softball 2025

Duke tried to finish the run rule with Gabriella Mike, who gave up four base runners and no outs and now it’s 12-5. Oops
 
Final 13-7. Not a good finish alas. Oh well this Pitt team shouldn’t be a problem even if Dani shouldn’t pitch tomorrow.

@DoubleBlue possible Sophie is hurt but she sometimes has gone long stretches without pitching over the last few years. I would expect her to try to save Cass some innings one of the next two days
 
Leadoff home run by Pitt. I have no idea what’s going on this weekend - Pitt does not hit home runs and that’s their fifth the last 8 innings against us.
 
Commentary here is brutal as the commentator thinks Duke has scored on a clear foul ball the umpire clearly called foul on and then acts like the ump didn’t clearly call foul when the runner goes back to second.

Anyhow Duke’s offense is pretty disappointing so far, 1-0 Pitt mid 2
 
Curd gives up a 3 run homer. 4-0 Pitt. This would be an utterly dreadful (quad 4) loss that could end any chance we have of hosting.
 
Pitt finally pulls their starter who despite a terrible stat profile held us at bay. Next up, another pitcher with a terrible stat profile we should destroy
 
Leadoff walk to start the sixth for Duke. Pitt’s pitchers statistically haven’t been able to stop walking people but Duke hasn’t taken advantage today .

And for some reason Thomas bunts first pitch against a pitcher who has walked a ton. Stupid softball.
