Duke Softball 2025

I would like to see a summary of the season. As to pitchers—-Too bad that Bradshaw’s injury interrupted her development…an outstanding HS pitcher. Great to see Baker’s development at 1B. Pretty solid infield. Cass and Dani have had ups and downs, but are both settling in after the early season challenges Coach Young has set for them and the team. Thomas is a good right fielder, she will improve her hitting as time goes on.
 
Curd gets the start, really using this weekend to get back on track. Gets out of some trouble in the first.

Britton rogers for now instead of Dark for UNC, (she’s not good)
 
0-0 after 1. It’s hilarious they show UNC’s second year coach’s winning record as impressive given how nearly all of it is against terrible competition and they’ve wilted against anyone in or near the top 25. Embarrassment of a program
 
Curd getting herself in trouble. After a walk and a bunt there’s a grounder to first and curd tries to throw to third instead of taking the sure out and gets no outs.

But then Jennings makes a brilliant leaping catch to save a run or two . 0-0 mid 3
 
Curious anyone know how Marissa Young’s husband is doing? I know he went through a lot last year with the heart attack. Really hoping he’s doing much better.
 
Think UNC might finally be figuring out Cass, walk and a single to start the fourth …but she does then get a much needed K
 
Two on one out for UNC. Cass struggling with slightly worse stuff today. But she gets out of it despite a deep fly ball out. 6 outs to go
 
Two infield hits (sort of) for UNC to start the 7th and the middle of UNC’s order is up now….no sign of anyone coming to relieve curd
