Duke Baseball 2024, ACC Champs!

After the HR another Clemson player is ejected for taunting? and then Clemson Coach Bakich is ejected for arguing.

Edit: Both coaches are suspended for two games after this one.

Well, these officials seem to have an attitude. They like to eject players (and coaches). And I actually thought it looked like Bakich was being fairly polite (at least initially) while the official was yelling at him.

But it’s curious that the bad behavior that resulted in an ejection was not actually apparent to the commentators.

These umps are not fair. Thesse Clemson players/coaches will be ejected for game 3 too

The Clemson coaches are 100 percent responsible for distracting the team when they have just taken the lead. The job of the coaches is to keep the players calm and focused. Instead, they throw a 13-year-old's tantrum in a decisive game, where they need only three more outs to win. I hope the AD calls the coach on the carpet.

From the comments, I may be the only person who feels this way.

Since those games are next year at the Clemson home opener, you can rest assured the opponent won't be much better than MD-Eastern Shore (0-48 this year).

This is the 2nd year in a row Clemson had problems with the umps. In an elimination extra innings game last year, an ump made an unpopular call in favor of TN that sent the Vols to the Supers.

Duke has a portal commitment from Jake Hyde from Georgetown. He is an outfielder who hit 13 homers, drove in 51, and batted.297 this season.

They also have a commitment from Mark Hindy, a LHP from William & Mary. He had a 3.75 ERA in 60 innings, striking out 73 and walking only 20.

Another transfer, Reid Easterly a RHP from Yale. Had a 4.56 ERA, with 69 K’s and 20 walks in 75 innings in 2024.

Duke transfers other than Krewson, Josh Allen, Jackson Emus, and Nick Conte, all pitchers.

Some on Twitter or X, whichever you prefer, others on a premium site. There are accounts keeping up with portal entries and commitments.

Wow. ESPN commentators (Tom Hart, Ben McDonald) during State-Georgia live broadcast just said of the Clemson-UF game, "It's a good thing the product on the field was good." Other commentator, "Why is that?"
First commentator, "Because I thought the umpires did not handle that situation well at all. They did not handle it at all. It was really embarrassing, at best... was they way they handled that."
Other commentator, "long pause..."
