We limit the chat to members who have posted at least a small number of posts. This keeps trolls out and spammers out.
Since this is your first post, Romulus, first let me welcome you to the board! Now your goal is to take part in some threads before the next game.
It would be nice, for those of us that rarely post, to view chat even if we can't post to chat.
Seems reasonable. For tonight, since I'm in the code a lot, I've opened it up for everyone to view. We'll see if we keep this setting. I encourage everyone to take part in the forum threads so you can fully participate.
When we changed board software, we used a different chat that didn't have many options. Tonight's is a new and dramatically different chat with new permissions that we're working through.
I appreciate that, thanks! When I enter chat, it says I haven't entered any rooms. I haven't found an option to choose or enter a room.Seems reasonable. Same, all it says is “you haven’t entered any rooms”. And at the bottom “
You do not have the permission to use the chat.”

The new, improved DBR Chat is open! Find it on the Chat menu option located on your computer on the menu bar (may have to scroll to the right if there's a > option showing), on the 3-line "hamburger" menu on your mobile device, or use the link below:

We limit the chat to members who have posted at least a small number of posts. This encourages our community feeling and keeps trolls out and spammers out (and, unfortunately, a few real fans, too). You haven't quite met the threshold for number of posts yet.

Yeah that’s silly. I’ve been visiting this site since the Juliovision days
I understand, but you have posted 7 times (twice in this thread). There's little difference between your number of posts and many trolls who come to stir up trouble. They vastly outnumber longtime, lurking members.
