Blue Devils in the NBA 2024-2025

Allen has made/ will make the most $, but I think a good argument can be made for Tyus being the best player. Not a knock on Allen who has become an outstanding shooter, but Tyus is a really good PG.
Yeah, they are very close. Also Winslow had the inside track before all the injuries took their toll.

Who would've thought that Allen would've ended up being the best and most well paid out of the 4 from that class.
it's hard to argue against best-paid, but i would argue that the fact that Tyus has set records (or at least within the "modern" range) for assist:turnover, and holds all of the best single-season a:to marks during that time, demonstrating that he is right there at the top of the list for PGs in the NBA, might mean that the argument for who was the best in that class is not as clear as you posit. Grayson is a fine shooter, and led the NBA in 3FG% this year, but is a 4th or 5th option on offense on his team.

Winslow was a potential all-star before his injuries. Sadly much of his explosiveness and athleticism has diminished but there was a time I would have put him in the “Dukies in the NBA” starting lineup, and probably at PG.

I can see the argument for either. Both are pretty elite role players for what they do. Allen his shooting while being an average to poor defender while Tyus is a great facilitator but a poor defender because of his size.

Allen a poor defender? Neither the Suns nor stats think so. 82nd, 98th and 91st percentiles in various adv metrics. And he gets bonus points from teammates for being scrappy.

I watched a decent number of Suns games last year and while I did see Grayson get beat a lot on D, he was very often assigned to guard the opponents best wing player, so the team at least thinks he’s their best option on D.

I went to his basketball camp as a middle schooler. Mike Freatello, later Hawks coach, was his junior guy running the camp.
Hubie Brown was a guest instructor at a Basketball Camp that I attended in high school. I believe he was an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks at the time. Brown was teaching the campers how to play defense and one of his methods was to never yield to a screen. He said we should run the man over and he will not set that screen the next time. It seemed pretty crazy to me at the time and my high school coach would never allow such a tactic.

Groundbreaking Jordan Tour in Shanghai
As a part of the iconic brand's China Family Tour, Banchero will join NBA champion Jayson Tatum, fellow former Duke Blue Devil and No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson and Mavericks' superstar Luka Doncic to visit "pivotal locations in Shanghai and Beijing," according to a release from the brand.

Great publicity for Duke and "the Brotherhood" that 3 of the 4 players are Duke guys. Kyrie also had his own shoe before bring dropped by Nike.

I know many of them are not NBA players, but based on the social media posts put out by the team, many of which were captured in the front page article about the Boozers visit (see link below), it looks like he held what they labeled "Pro Devils Weekend". It was an incredible collection of recent Duke players, especially big men.

Based on the photos, I saw...
RJ, Keels, DJ Stewart, Lively, Vernon Carey, Cassius Stanley, Jah (looking lean), Jared McCain, Marques Bolden, Mark Williams, Battier, Dahntay, Daniel Ewing, Hairston, Bilas, Theo John

Here's the front page story

The Duke Men's team IG account posted all the photos that I was reviewing, @dukembb
