2024 U.S. Presidential election

As one who has never owned a gun nor felt the need to own one but respects the rights of those who choose to responsibly own very basic guns, I have generally assumed that the larger the gun, the more the owner is trying to compensate for, be it masculinity, brain power, self-esteem, or whatever else.
The first guy is just carrying a heavy metal tube. The rocket launcher can only be fired once and it’s got a “insert” label at the top.

Good news folks - this is sure to bring down grocery prices.

Direct quote from his town hall last night, complete with big, strong men with tears in their eyes. I know all politicians give word salad answers sometimes, but I mean…
He says absolutely nothing and people think he is brilliant and will solve all the world's problems. Our nation's critical thinking skills are so poor. Meanwhile, in the NYT, Bret Stephens, who has spent years acknowledging that Trump is a threat to our nation, says that he can't vote for Harris because she has not given detailed enough answers on obscure foreign policy issues. He wants to know what she will do about the Houthis. Meanwhile, Trump likely thinks they are the guys who sing with the Blowfish. SMDH.

Trump is doing a rally at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island today. That area has enough red in it that he should draw a good crowd (George Santos' district either included the Coliseum or was very close by).

I have a neighbor who is evidence to support your assumption

Things that might affect the horserace? Stories like these:

I expect these stories will be coming out daily in the coming weeks.

Every time you think Vance has hit bottom, he says “hold my beer” and shows you how wrong you are.

It’s straight out of the Trump School of Media Manipulation (the only Trump school not to go financially bankrupt*): spew so many outrageous statements that people stop hearing them or just say, “Oh, that’s just JD being JD.”

*I added the word “financially” because the Trump School of Media Manipulation is, in fact, morally bankrupt.

Brett Stephens is a single issue voter. And the issue has little to do with the US.

I think this gives Harris a sweep of the current American Pop Princesses. If that block can mobilize as a unit this would be done.

But Trump will always have Kid Rock. So it's a wash. 🥴 (my new favorite emoji)

Here's a super interesting graphic from the NYT that shows just how inaccurate the polling was in 2020 and 2022. And it highlights THE key horse race question for me.

Will 2024 look more like 2016 and 2020 when Trump outperformed the polls because of shy Trump voters and/or his ability to turnout his vote?

Or will 2024 look more like 2022 when Dems outperformed because of the enthusiasm around Roe and/or the fatigue with MAGA?

Bret Stephens sums up much of the logic as to why this race is so absurdly close. The candidate that intends to actually govern has not given all of the specific answers to the goal posts I keep moving, so I therefore may just have to leave it to the guy that is encapsulated by incompetence and wants to burn everything to the ground.

Not everyone at CNN is giving republicans a pass:

(Not that I thought they all were)
Ha then Scott Jennings says everyone should cool it. This reminds me of people who get upset when their team gets called for many more fouls in a game, as if to imply the foul calls should be even to be "fair." No Scott, your candidate gets called for fouls because he commits them at an alarming rate. Like, an unprecedented rate. With apologies to Tony Bennett, they are trying to "Virginia" the game.
