I mean he has to right?!From a business sense, this is the biggest arbitrage opportunity ever (might be a little exaggeration). Unless, of course he found some morality or just isn’t that great of a businessman…
In theory, yes.

But, he said publicly a week or two ago that we wasn’t going to sell (which made the stock go up slightly). If he unloads it now, he faces the prospect of an SEC lawsuit and/or criminal charges for stock manipulation. I know he doesn’t seem to care about criminal charges these days, but a civil case from the SEC could claim all the profits he makes.

I don't know. Their president spoke at the RNC. I imagine he got a lot of blowback from the membership and that is the reason for this. And the subsequent anti-union talk with Musk (firing strikers and such as I remember). Plus I think of any union, Teamsters are the most likely to vote however they wanted individually regardless of their union's endorsement.

Who knows but I could easily see him going for the cash
Yeah, I don't think he'll be able to help himself. And remember he can shoot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue...

Though on 2nd thought, it's one thing to shoot one of those commie pinko New Yawkers like CNC ;) and quite another to take a man's beer money.

I bet he waits until the day after the election to dump it all. He may be able to shoot someone in the middle of Sixth Avenue and not lose any supporters, but I'm not so sure he can crash their investments and keep 'em loyal.

Although maybe they can offer to pay them out in TrumpCrypto (do we know what the name of this new scam -- er, investment platform -- is to be?)

Especially since his commercial holdings are losing value and he owes a LOT of money to various people for various reasons

Any candidate for high office who is suspected of being in the throes of cognitive decline should be made to sing “Choctaw Bingo” on national television. If they can keep all those lyrics straight, they’re good to go.

So, it all started when a Trump supporter couldn't find her cat and called the cops on her Haitian neighbors, but it turns out that Miss Sassy was just hiding in the basement after all. I guess the good news for Trump is he still had at least one cat lady supporter.

That should be our new National Anthem tbh. “Real America”

We’ll have us a time.

I resemble that remark! Though as liberal as I am on national issues (I am actually quite moderate), when it comes to local, in my super blue area, I am repeatedly called a right-winger.

I was actually at a lunch event today about 50 yards from 5th Avenue and about 10 blocks down from Trump Tower. Just wanted to report back that I survived. Part of the discussion by the speaker was about whether Trump will try to pull funding on some major projects in the NY area - nice way to stick it to the blue states, but he theoretically has a lot of money invested here so he doesn't want to hurt NY too badly.

If Trump were smart, he could at least partially justify selling and taking the money by saying he is going to do something charitable with it. Perhaps an animal rescue shelter in Ohio, a school for kids who don't read good, or whatever else. But charity is not part of his DNA so it will not happen.

Apparently she apologized to her neighbors for the (clearly racist) assumption, so good for her. She and the lady whose Facebook post started all this nonsense have apologized, which is what grownups do when they make mistakes.

The GOP candidate for VPOTUS repeated the allegations today.

A truly depressing article that shows just how far down the rabbit hole tens of millions of Americans have gone --

As Trump has launched a series of claims and suggestions that are bizarre even by his standards, new data shows large swaths of his supporters believe them.

A majority (52 percent) of Trump supporters say they believe the claim about Haitian migrants “abducting and eating pet dogs and cats."

43 percent of Trump supporters say they believe that “in some states it is legal to kill a baby after birth.”

28 percent of Trump supporters say they believe that “public schools are providing students with sex-change operations.”

81 percent of Trump supporters say they believe Venezuela is “deliberately sending people from prisons and mental institutions” to the United States.

To be clear, there is zero evidence -- not even anything anecdotal -- that any of the above are remotely true.

He speaks it and they just take it as gospel. To put it in terms a cult would truly understand, he says "drink the Kool-aid" and they all gleefully follow him to their deaths.

Big poll out of PA today from Quinnipiac. 1700LV. 51-46 Harris. The same poll for August 8-12 had it 50-47 Harris.

That's a very important 2-point trend that matches up with the overall trend in the national polls. Also Activote posted a new snapshot of their daily poll today. Shows the same post debate gain for Harris.

Wait till they find out it was actually Flavor-Aid!!

(I know you were just using the common phrasing)

I would ask if our media is learning, since the Times and the Journal (possibly the Post, too, just haven't noticed it) have both picked this up and don't seem to be letting go, but I do note that it's probably just because it's Vance and not Trump caught in their crosshairs.

Somehow the press has still been too afraid to pin Trump down on why, when the campaign knew it was bs before the debate, he went out and repeated it, anyway.

Vance has set up a really interesting test here, now that he's just openly thumbing his nose at reality and ethical behavior. He was just asked today about the fact that these are all documented migrants and his response was "I'm still going to call them illegal." Just astounding behavior. He's all but telling everyone "I know it's all a brazen lie, but it's a lie that helps us so I'm gonna keep repeating it and there's nothing you can do about it."

From at least three angles, I'm interested to see how this plays out. One: will shamelessness ever reach a functional end point? Two (a): are we in a world in which a substantial percentage of people live in such a media bubble that they won't actually be exposed to the truth of the underlying matter here, or made to understand exactly how blatantly Vance is flipping everyone off? Two (b): if we're not, just what percentage of the population's primary animating motivation is to own the libs, such that they cheer him on in this?

He's known since before the debate that the allegations had no factual basis:
liar liar

He keeps repeating the line that "10 of the 12" claims he has received from his constituents are "verifiable". He's lying.
A tell, I also noticed, with Vance... if he repeats the interviewers name and/or starts with "look, here's the interesting thing..." he's lying.
