Maybe my memory is faulty but didn't Covid hit the US in the spring of 2020 (I believe the NCAA Men's BB tournament was cancelled in March of 2020?) and we began to have many of the shutdowns around the country (cancelling in person schooling and restaurants shutting down in-person service, businesses having employees work from home, etc. in the late Spring/early Summer of 2020). And wasn't DT president of the country until January 2023? Maybe my math is wrong but isn't that more than two years that we were dealing with the fallout from the pandemic, when there was massive federal spending to try to keep the economy from totally cratering?
Remember that guy Joe Biden who was President? I understand, though, it feels like the time Trump was our COVID president was endless.

Wild spread national lockdowns started in the last week of March 2020, through April and into the second week in May. After that it varied by state. The election between Biden and Trump was in November 2020. Certification started on Jan 6th, 2021 and was completed on Jan 7th. Trump exited the White House and Biden entered on Jan 20th, 2021.

Yea, sorry, my memory is VERY faulty! (as my wife will attest). I was thinking Trump was first elected in 2018 (for some unknown reason). Yes, Covid did impact the last nine months or so of his term in office.

Trump left office Jan 2021.

I voted today. No line. I got an "I Voted" sticker. I met a friend who works at the Boston Public Library for lunch. On my way to meet my friend, a college aged young woman stopped me and asked if she could take my picture because of the "I Voted" sticker. On my way back home, another college aged person, this time a young man, stopped me and asked if I would be willing to answer a few questions. He stopped me because of the "I Voted" sticker too. I agreed. I found out he is a journalism major at BU. We discussed a few things and by the end of the encounter, I had designed a simple study for him to implement.

CNN exit poll showing that 2/3 of voters say the nations economy is not so good or not good.

75% of people say that inflation has caused hardship for their family.

Almost 70% are dissatisfied or angry in terms of the way things are going in the United States right now.

Well y'all I'm signing off for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Try and take some chill pills and realize that regardless of the outcome, America is still the best darned place to live on the lesser landmass of the northern hemisphere. ;)
Take off, ya hoser (/s)

Southern, I'm really excited for you to get some good news in a little while that's impossible for you to ignore. 😁

Totally off topic, but wow, didn't realize VCU had hit that demographic tipping point. I've heard the same thing's happened at Tulane and has led to some problems.
Off topic:
this comment rang bell. This was a great article about college gender ratios and tipping points. I think it's a gift article link, so hopefully that works:
Declining male enrollment has led many colleges to adopt an unofficial policy: affirmative action for men.

On topic:
This is not Melania Trump.

I feel like this is the question in annual satisfaction surveys at companies along the lines of, do you feel like you’re fairly compensated. Always abyssal scores. Everyone just wants to be doing better.
