This Week in the ACC - 1/6-1/12

Ask Oregon State and Washington State what they would do if the ACC offered them even a 10% membership stake.

SMU getting 0% for 9 years but then being a full member is the envy of every mid-major in the country.
SMU could also afford to do it. They have a full boat of loaded donors. Money is not an issue on that campus.

Lots of potentially competitive games today. A couple non-Duke questions I have are:

1. Can N.C. State beat Carolina to remain unbeaten at home? I wouldn’t bet on it.
2. Virginia and Virginia Tech both lost in California on Wednesday. Will they fare better today when they switch opponents?

Negative, sir. (although odds are at least 1 of the 3 happen I guess).

I like that Duke, NCSU, and other provide history links for major sports on the web. Keatts has won 2 against UNC ('21, '23) and won a couple inside the Evil Empire. You really have to go back my favorite UNC teams during the Gut era for the series to even out in Raleigh. I think UNC wins won they don't deserve today.

After two decades of academic fraud, ANY game they win is one they don’t deserve.

It is amazing how NC State lays a huge egg every single time they play UNC in basketball. It does not matter where they play. I expect NC State to lose today by double digits at home.

There’s a horseshoe stuck somewhere deep inside some Tar Heel. It’s going to fall out eventually and UNC’s W/L record will better correspond with how they actually look as a team, which continues to be incredibly flawed. Here’s hoping it happens soon because I’m a bit terrified of Ian Jackson pulling a Caleb Love and just never missing against us. Grrrrrrrrr

SMU 93, Georgia Tech 71 in a game that was >30 in the first half. Hopefully this means that after getting over the stage fright of v Duke and @ UNC, SMU will recover and be a tournament team.
