The longest thread ever

Ackshually, Pluto is well outside the so-called "Goldilocks zone" that is close enough to a planet's star to support liquid water and thus carbon-based life forms. Some planetary astronomers have speculated that Pluto's warmer core may contain a liquid water ocean, but its surface is believed to consist of a permafrost of frozen methane and nitrogen, with an average surface temperature averaging between -375° and -400° F.
As such, it would be impossible to maintain any sort of lawn on Pluto's surface.

Important update today on the Killer Vegans, the Zizians, including mention of The Ziz himself, heretofore unreported:
Whoa. Just when I didn’t think the plot could get any thicker, it gets a little more thickery.

Speaking of lawns ... I could not get past the first paragraph of this. I cannot overestimate how much I despise the recent phenomenon of referring to a single person as "they". That is not a political statement, it is a linguistic statement. I am all for defining a new series of gender-neutral pronouns, as several different SF authors and others have tried to do, but using a perfectly good existing gender-neutral plural pronoun to reference a single person is an abomination.

I noticed that and am not a fan either

Sybil would like a word with you

And I would accept that. In my OP, when I use "person", that sense could obviously be applied to multiple personalities (same root word, after all) in one body without stretching its definition at all ... if you assume the classic medical definition of "multiple personalities". You made me read farther into the article, against my inclination, and I see that this is not the intention of this report.

Pluto was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh from Burdett, KS (actually born in Streator, IL). It will always be a planet to me - even though it is now considered a dwarf planet.

I think I have said it on here before, but Smithfield Chicken and BBQ has the best pork skins I have ever had in my life. They are so authentic that there is still some hair on them. And I am here for that.

we have a friend on Topsail Island who is SO into eating well, lots of veg (don't ask me why) and lean protein, she's really good at it. But a few years ago on our way to Topsail we stopped at Smithfield BBQ and grabbed a big sack of pork skins and put them out for our friends with cocktails. We imagined she wouldn't touch them, but we were wrong, she at them like a POW, it was great.
I'm not a big chain restaurant guy at all, but the service at Smithfield is (or at least was the last time we went) tremendous. On an initial visit my wife ordered a chicken lunch thinking it was grilled chicken, but she had erred, it was fried. The manager stopped by to see how things were, she told him about her mistake, and he said no problem, brought her an order grilled chicken, no charge

The post script was she then nibbled on the friend chicken and couldn't stop, she hoovered it right down.

As expected, there is a NC connection to this bizarre story. ALWAYS a NC connection. The weirdos all have to pass through at some point.

Medical specialists around here just ... do ... not ... communicate. The next time I see evidence that a specialist sends a report as promised will be the first.
