The longest thread ever

I made the point that I like to avoid the boards after a loss and some doink tore into me for THAT. I rest my case. I don't get the hosttility at all.
I mean, I'm pretty hostile. I have absolutely no appreciation and respect for people who don't know, but think they do. On one a few years ago I told them I didn't know. And I know more than any of them unless they are actually coaches at the high school or college levels. Wasn't well received...yet here we are.

Spent the day yesterday touring the Global Transpark in Kinston....did y'all know they host one of the bases of the world's largest private air force? Around 120 fighter aircraft that provide aggressor services mostly to the US Military. Pretty cool guys. At least at Kinston, it's all A-4s and Mirage F1s. They have some Mig21s elsewhere, wish I could have seen them.

The owner also captained the first private orbital spaceflight back in 2021 and a second mission, Polaris Dawn, just two months ago. It's amazing what you can find just down the road.

I would enjoy seeing this!

They did have a pair of A-4s that were just doing some patterns around the airport, but we didn't get to see anything outside of normal operations. Although getting up close of a Mirage was really cool. The do their air to air training off coast (since it's just 10 minutes). It was still really cool. The Global Transpark really hasn't had much going on for it...but it looks like they are getting some pretty cool tenants. They are building a maintenance facility for C-130s there that will basically service the entire east coast, a new facility for the community college and one of the tenants there (that operates an executive jet rental/membership/sales business and has a fleet of a few hundred) donate four jets to the CC for training purposes. Coming from the Triangle I tend to look down on the folks east of us (mainly because I went the high school in Onslow county) but there is some cool stuff happening.

How’s Phoenix these days?
Weather is perfect, high of 78 and sunny today. Beautiful family of Gambel’s quail in my yard. Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant have already missed games for the Suns, and KD looks to be out now for a couple of weeks (not that I ever watch an entire regular season NBA game unless it’s in person). Cardinals haven’t completely imploded yet but there’s still time. ASU football seems to be recovering from the Herm Edwards experiment, and Bobby’s team looked a lot better against Gonzaga the other night. Dems held on to Kyrsten’s seat, so there’s that. Pretty much covers it I guess.
