I wonder if Riley Leonard might suit up after next week's game to add a bit more firepower to ND hoops
For us, the last 2 sport player I recall is Reggie Love. Before that, a dude for UNC, Julius Pepper. He had a decent career in the NFL.

Rusty LaRue is probably still playing football and basketball for Wake.

Was Charlie Ward the best two-sport ACC college player (Heisman, and then quality enough for pro hoops)? maybe Prime? Peppers was a darn good footballer.

It might have been Peppers, except that he returned early 'cuz he couldn't stand Coach Doh.

Ward > Peppers. NBA caliber PG who won a Heisman. Peppers was a tremendous football player and an OK bball player, but Ward starred in both sports.

Trajan Langdon was a pretty good two-sport guy as well, although he only played one sport at the collegiate level.

Duke has its severe weather policy in effect, but that doesn't affect the game at all. Noon tip time is still happening.

Are the concession stands selling bread and milk?
I think so, but all of the white versions are sold out. Only blue bread and milk remain.

The blue ones are left over from the last winter storm and keep getting bluer.

send the blue ones over to chapel hill for the wine and cheese folks.

After Tuesday's significant revenge/Quad 1 victory over Pittsburgh, the #4 Blue Devils play the second game of a three-game homestand when they host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday. Tip off is at noon, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN (streaming link, listen, live stats).

ESPN's broadcast will be announced by Dan Shulman (Western Ontario grad; bio), Jay Bilas (Duke basketball; bio), and Jess Sims (Division III Trinity College basketball; bio). That trio also worked the Champions Classic in Atlanta, so let's hope the outcome is better this time.

I was hoping to find the video where NFL coach Rex Ryan quit midway through his "94 Feet with Jay Bilas" interview -- "I thought this was going to be about something else," he mumbled -- so instead I'll take an extracurricular look at the other two broadcasters.

Dan Shulman must have learned infinite patience from calling Major League Baseball games. Here's a video from a little over 10 years ago, in which he and John Kruk call a Cardinals-Cubs game from the Wrigley Field bleachers instead of the standard booth.

Jess Sims is also a fitness instructor, and some of her better football segments on "College GameDay" allow her worlds to collide. Here's a video in which she trains the Oregon Duck mascot to be better at the traditional push-up celebration every time the team scores.

Shrewsberry inherited a full rebuild, and he is slowly building something. He cobbled together a decent defense last year with a roster that simply wasn't ACC level. This year, their offense is much better but their defense has gotten worse. He's doing some nice work on the recruiting trail. If he can keep Burton and his son, while adding talent elsewhere, he could have something cooking.

On defense, contain Burton and get out on their shooters. On offense, attack the middle. They are soft on the inside.

The next 3 games are going to be a challenge mentally. This team has been locked in since the Auburn game. Will we see a letdown? Obviously I'm hoping we win by a big margin. Moreover, I'm hoping we can use the next 3 to work on some different things:

- The Pitt game showed our big lineup can have success against small/quick guards. Can we do it again against Burton?
- Will Jon keep experimenting with switching 1 through 5 on defense?
- Can we continue to refine our sets on offense?
- Can we get Caleb Foster a get-right game or two?
- How about some minutes for Harris and Ngongba?
