MBB: Duke 70, Seattle 48 Post-game Thread

Do you really see many plays called and run? That's always been my contention with last few years of K and maybe now of Scheyer. You got five elite guys and to me when you can't overpower guys in individual matchups you need to rely on old fashioned plays. Anyone agree or not?
Motion offense? Is it solely or mostly 1-on-1? I don't think so.

Great takes CDu. I saw a post with Jon's presser and the poster mentioned Jon saying he's not calling set plays. He's letting the players read what the defense is doing and running plays themselves. That could very well be the problem with 3 freshmen and a sophomore in the starting lineup. I hope there is a change in practice Monday and Tuesday because we need to hold serve at home against a really good team.

GoDuke!
Yes… if Scheyer is not calling plays and letting them figure it out, that could be from his experience from the 2010 team. But that team started 3 seniors and 2 juniors… not 3 freshman with 1 junior and 1 sophomore. Hopefully Scheyer gives the team some kind of direction and not leave it all to themselves.

And YES… GO DUKE!!!

I’m back from the game. There was an incident in the second half on the West side of Cameron. I was on the East side so I could see little but I heard that EMS was doing chest compressions but what I heard may have been wrong. I hope the person made it. Anyone know more?
It was the next section over from where I was, and they were doing CPR on someone. But it looked like he was revived and they walked him down (carefully).

All other things aside, I loved the crowd's vocal explosion when Hubbard cam into the game. It's great to see him appreciated for all of his dedication over the years.

Worth noting that Seattle just beat Washington of the Big Ten by a score of 79-70.

Seattle is the 2nd best team in the WAC according to KenPom right now.

Washington is a sparkling #119 in T-rank, one spot below Georgia Tech and quite a ways ahead of Virginia Tech. But Washington is coached by Danny Sprinkle, so the team has that going for it.
