Georgia Tech game was one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters ever from start to finish

Since my ability to watch was hampered by "work," I popped into the chat during the first half.

Nothing but gloom and doom - and this was BEFORE the injuries.

Seriously, do y'all ever have fun watching Duke games?

I guess I count for "nothing", then, when it comes to:

1. Providing the names of the officials before each game, along with Duke's win-loss record with each of them, because I've been keeping track of that all season.

2. Preparing a short set of original trivia questions for the halftime of every game, and trying to hold court in those few minutes, despite a few people unwilling to wait to get out their complaints (in a way that I can only hope is therapeutic for them).

3. Staying calm, rational, and generally positive, in an attempt to sway others to keep the tone light.

4. Telling off-the-cuff jokes to distract the select few from their natural state of constant misery and meltdown when Duke doesn't win every possession and every second of play.

5. For today's game, specifically, finding and sharing information -- with links -- updating Cooper Flagg's situation. I did the same with Tyrese Proctor a few weeks ago. People in chat were better informed than people reading the in-game thread. Not that it mattered; my posts were not as exciting as the wild speculation and unsourced misinformation that others were providing. The DBR Way.

And don't even try the "I didn't mean you" defense here. You meant what you said here, and in chat, and when I extended an olive branch then, you ignored me.

Thanks for your judgment.

I honestly didn't mean you. But you can not believe me. I was in and out of chat at work. I 100% appreciate your contributions in chat and on threads. The general negativity in chat is too toxic for me.

I respect your comments and pregame threads and halftime entertainment. Please know I am earnest in that.

I sent you a PM.

Yes. When they’ve either blown the other team out in the first 10 mins. Or— the replays when I know they won. 😂😂😂

I will say that for some reason, it feels a lot less stressful to watch in person than on TV..

Oh man, so well said. Every UNC game my wife says to me, as I pull out my hair, "You're supposed to be enjoying this!" Of course I am, but I can only imagine what it looks like from her end every time.

Today was a game where outlier events happened again and again and again.
emotionally invested in this team?? guarantee I am...almost had 4 heart attacks today....i have been emotional invested since I was a kid that would ride with my grandfather from his home in Thomasville, NC to watch football games in Wallace Wade. we'd sit in the end zone with our shirts off with about 1000 other diehard fans..some things never change
