2025 All Tournament Thread

I don't know but I'll always root against Caleb Love so I'm hoping Arizona loses today.
Haha fair... I wouldn't mind ending him once and for all ourselves... but I'm not exactly scared of either team tbh. I know Arizona is playing better as of late, but we beat them pretty good in Tucson when this team was still figuring it out. Duke is a much stronger team than the one we saw in Arizona.

Who do we think we matchup better against; Oregon or Arizona?
Probably Oregon. Duke and Zona are different teams from the two that matched up in November. We've both gotten better (we're a lot better), but they still have more than enough juice to beat us. They've beaten Texas Tech (twice), BYU, Kansas and Iowa State.

Oregon had a great non-conference with wins over Bama and Texas A&M. They lost 5 of 6 at one point in conference play. But their recent win streak of 9 out of 10 games, like our rivals down the road, was built on beating 8 bad teams. They went 1-1 against Wisconsin and Mich State.

CSU making the Crab 5 look pedestrian...
The Mormons will not be able to handle Alabama.
I actually think they match up well against them, similar styles. But you may be right, idk if BYU can keep up...we'll see. But Alabama does not play defense....and they aren’t exactly running away with this game vs St. Mary's.

The tournament will be more enjoyable when….

1. Duke plays its first game
2. We see Cooper in live game action

3. We see Maliq in live game action
4. Unc is eliminated
5. UConn is eliminated

I didn't want to elevate the "Angst" thread but did want to show an update.....

I am really going to enjoy the rest of the tournament even if Maliq does not play.

Maryland showing their first signs of life in a while, within one possession of Colorado State. On the one hand, ewww terps, but along similar lines to our conversation about the Gators-UConn game earlier today, I'd rather Maryland be next up for Florida than CSU.

I don’t see how Hurley can have any credibility with the refs. He is constantly complaining about calls that were obvious to make.
He seems to be extremely immature and any time something doesn’t go well for him there has to be someone for him to blame. His tirade going through the tunnel after the game was absurd. His players made more mistakes in the last part of the game. That’s why they lost.

I was hoping for a narrative change of the SEC underperforming but they showed up and played well. Good chance they could put 3 teams in the final four...I pray Duke is a team keeping 3 or less.
Also impressive : while yes they’ve lost 7 teams, they only have one — Missouri — that got beaten by a team they “should’ve” beaten. Everyone else was beaten by a team they were supposed to lose to. And 4 of them in tossups meaning 8-9 games or 4-5 games.

The SEC is just really good and deep this year.

I understand the annoyance at the annual assumption that SEC football is better than the rest and deserves 10 teams ranked in the top five at all times, but it was pretty clear all season that SEC basketball was crazy deep for an 16-school conference as well as very strong at the top.

There's no reason to get bent out of shape about an accurate narrative; it's like when college basketball fans get pissed about elite Duke teams getting attention/credit for being elite. Or getting mad about Cooper Flagg getting so much media attention.
