The 99 team showed me anyone can lose against a tough matchup.I still haven't gotten over that game. I've always hoped Avery could be in a position to win a Championship ring!
They were great. But were they better than Duke and 92, UNLV in 91 and UNC in 84? I loved the 99 team but I don't think there's any way they beat the 92 team. They were too young. And they're not any better than UNLV and North Carolina the years they didn't win it. I guess I don't worry about the teams that didn't win it because I'm so busy celebrating the ones that did.No negativity from me, just wistfulness. The '99 team was like nothing I've seen before.
Duke has win 3 titles since then! How are you worrying about that one?!?! I am actually asking. How could anyone worry about 86, 88, 89, 04, 99 when there are 91, 92, 01, 10 and 15 to celebrate? I am flummoxed by this.I still haven't gotten over that game.
I also celebrate every final four appearance even the ones where we end up disappointed. They were great. But were they better than Duke and 92, UNLV in 91 and UNC in 84? Saaaaaame! It's all part of the larger narrative of excellence. Ain't nobody got it better than us!I also celebrate every final four appearance even the ones where we end up disappointed.

Of all the wordsDuke has win 3 titles since then! How are you worrying about that one?!?! I am actually asking. How could anyone worry about 86, 88, 89, 04, 99 when there are 91, 92, 01, 10 and 15 to celebrate? I am flummoxed by this.
Yes, but 04 had UConn nearly dead to rights and then lost it mostly on bad officiating. And they would have had Georgia Freaking Tech as the only thing standing between them and the title!04… solid, nice team
99 stands alone.
1986!This one and the '92 team.
GoDuke!
Coach K said if Kyrie hadn't gotten injured, that team might have been undefeated. I'll take his word on how good that team could have been. Without Kyrie, no they were not the best team.Ohio State was the best team in 2011 but you can add 2002 to your list. You can make an argument for 2006 as well.
2004 is probably the most disappointing for me after 1999, maybe even more so because I still believe Duke outplayed UConn that game (2004)
That's all that's left to do this time of year.By that logic the ACC only deserved one bid. I know there's a lot of SEC hatred but let's not overreact to a single elimination tournament
I thought the Houston/Gonzaga match last night was a great game with both teams capable of the final four. The first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament are not that great. The sweet 16 games are the best. And after that the games keep getting even bester.
The beauty of the first 2 rounds are the upsets. But the lack of huge upsets (St John's didn't look like the better team vs Arkansas yesterday) might mean some great Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games next weekend.kinda disappointed in the lack of upsets in this tournament so far. No seed lower than 12 advanced (2 of them) and then only 1 11-seed.
That is what the nerd polls were predicting.kinda disappointed in the lack of upsets in this tournament so far. No seed lower than 12 advanced (2 of them) and then only 1 11-seed.
