It only really occurred to me today, but if any of you voters live in Virginia, it's possible you voted for me today. I'm an elector for my party's ticket, so I had the unusual experience of voting for myself for the first time.
your just faking us out right😊

If it makes you feel better, there is plenty to be pessimistic about this country even if/when Harris wins
You mean, like, the $35 TRILLION dollars of debt (and not including unfunded liabilities for social security, medicare, medicaid, etc) that the federal government is responsible for paying back ??

Something is going on at Trump Media. Trading halted twice.
That’s normal if a stock drops or goes up by too much too quick. It’s happened to that stock several times since it went public. Whether there’s some non public information about the election or people reading leaves or a coordinated effort to depress the stock is sometime we don’t know.

So quite literally, if Trump loses the election, Trump could and will probably lose $BILLIONS as this meme stock will quite literally go to pennies or zero. He won't be able to get out or sell fast enough. There have been no disclosures, so he hasn't sold off yet. Talk about high stakes election, he has billions and possibly jail on the line.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I know a lot of fiscal conservatives who are voting for Harris this cycle just because Trump is projected to add twice as much to our debt over the next 4 years.

Just kidding...nobody seems to care anymore. Including the Wall Street Journal.

Harris is working the p

If he loses (or looks like he's heading for defeat), I bet the bottom falls out on it tomorrow.

I have deleted several of the posts concerning who makes up the GOP. While I think they were well-intentioned and not inflammatory in themselves, it is easy to see how that could spin out of control. I'm sure y'all understand.

Let's focus on the race and candidates. The quickest way for this thread to get into trouble is talking about groups of opposing supporters in generalized terms.

Thanks. Great job by everybody so far!

The GOP hates Democratic deficits. GOP deficits are a different thing entirely.

edit: wrote this before I saw OldPhiKap’s post. Not sure if it falls in the forbidden post pile but it’s about politics, not personal traits.

You are correct. I don't know if the stock will go to $0 if he loses today. But it could drop 90% and still be overvalued by 100x based on fundamentals.

I guess you could still have a contingent of investors betting that a 78 year old man who has lost 2 out of 3 elections will continue to lead the MAGA movement, will avoid prison, and will return again to run in 4 years.

Yea, as I've said for years, the main problem with Donald Trump is that he is WAY too liberal. He has no qualms about spending huge amounts of (borrowed) money (and not his own, of course) to pay for his various spending whims. Hell, he makes the Dems seem downright parsimonious.

Rachel Maddow pointed out last night on her show that if Harris wins, she has a serious national security threat to deal with: Elon Musk, who is cozying up with dictators and taking our adversaries side against friends/allies with Skylink and denying to Taiwan and Ukraine. He also holds Billions in US defense and NASA contracts. Yes, it is a serious issue.

He didn't add a record $8.5T to our debt in 4 years with new spending. He did it by giving massive tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.

He also worked in the US illegally on a student visa when he opted not to go to college. So perhaps the answer is to seize all his assets and deport him via one of those Trump style detainment camps?

Freedom of the Press. It's only free if you say what we want.

Journalists from multiple news organizations have been denied credentials to former President Donald Trump’s election night watch event in West Palm Beach, Florida, in retaliation for their coverage of Trump’s campaign.

Reporters at Politico, Axios, Puck, Voice of America and Mother Jones were among those denied credentials. Some, like Politico, had been previously granted access to the Tuesday night event only to have the decision reversed.
